Command Block Help

I'm not a part of any minecraft forums so I thought it would be okay to post this here.

Sometimes when using command blocks, they just won't activate. I tried everything. The command even works when I type it in the chat box manually, which proves that the command blocks aren't activating. I've tried using redstone blocks and "needs redstone" type command blocks, I've tried manually activating impulse blocks with buttons, they don't work.

This is really annoying, so if anyone can tell me why it happens or if I can fix it, that would be great.



PS: This was made right after 1.14 came out, so it just might be a weird update bug.

 

the only possibility I can think of is that you use command blocks on a server but command blocks are turned off in the server settings, other than that I have no idea how it doesn't work
