Media Do You Think Wynncraft Will Last Forever?

Wynncraft will last as Long as Minecraft lasts :>

 

I think that Wynn will probably end. The players and ct will eventually move on from Wynn, and so will the developers. I do, however, think that Wynn will end up being one of the longest-running minecraft servers, and will leave something behind for a lot of people. c:

 

Wynn will end when is no longer profitable/sustainable because, at the end of the day, logistic is what matters the most

 

well now it's going to last for longer, I mean we hit like 4k players this weekend which is k i n d a alot.

 

I think it really depends on a lot of things.

I don't think money will be an issue for a long, long time, but once the map is completed and the features that the CT want added are all finally done, it's possible that the game will just stagnate and slowly fade away. (A way to combat this would be to continue adding new areas or new regions forever accessible via boats or air-travel - gotta keep the rectangle map dream ;) )

Wynncraft has been around for almost 6 years, and I've been playing it for 5 of those years. In that time, the player count has fluctuated and Wynncraft has always been fine no matter what. It survived the EULA issues, it survived the pre-Gavel content drought and it survived the WHOLE 2018 content drought and now (thanks to Grian and the new trailer), the player count is spectacularly high! So I think Wynncraft has a good few years left.

Something I had thought about is the possibility that games such as Hytale might slowly begin to take players away from the Minecraft playerbase, but I guess there's no way to know at this stage.

 

I couldn't play because of time constraints, and i didn't want to grind but once i got into it it was good

Wynncraft is one if the servers that isn’t as famous as Hypixel or those other minigame servers, but it is one of those that stay around for a very long time because of the loyal fanbase.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t get the same recognition as those minigame servers from youtubers, making the playerbase stay at the same rate for a while.
5-6 years ago when MCUniverse and another famous MC youtuber were making a series on it, Wynn gained a very large playerbase that kept playing as long as the youtubers played, but when the series was discontinued by both youtubers, the fans didn’t care for it as much anymore.
If there is some famous MC youtuber that starts giving wynn some attention, those old glory days may come back.

 

The thing with Minecraft Servers is, it takes a ton of manpower and money to maintain a server like Wynncraft. Without donations, it would only come out of Salted, Jumla, and Grian's pockets. Wynncraft will likely be here to stay for awhile and the constant updates do help indicate how strong Wynncraft as a community is. However regardless of our subjective views on the current state and quality of Wynncraft is, it will likely not last for an extremely super long time. Maintaining Wynncraft especially with multiple mini-servers is hard rigorous work and is likely not sustainable enough in profits to live a super comfortable life, and if Wynncraft isn't meant to be the main financial focus for the big three then it would honestly conclude to the three just not finding enough reason to continue their server. They clearly are doing this server because they love what they're doing, however this doesn't mean they will always keep loving doing the same hobbies or jobs as usual and they are probably going to eventually be at the age where they want to try new things, see new ideas, etc. I obviously don't want Wynncraft to die, but it's obviously going to be inevitable. I did donate to the devs to show my support and to sort of let the flames die out in a slower manner, but that won't really do much to stop the inevitable. Wynncraft also doesn't have a ton of support from Youtubers and that might be the server's biggest downfall as it's largely community-focused and the fact that we aren't getting a whole lot of new players to replace those who left, it might mark the downfall of Wynn in the future. But generally the devs growing up would be the biggest factor or if Wynncraft is marking a dent in the big three's wallet. Hope this answer helps! :>

 

To me, Wynn is a server that has always been quietly running in the background of the Minecraft multiplayer community. It's one of those servers that you just happen to stumble on, whether it be from a YouTube video that happens to creep into you recommendations or from one of your friends telling you about it. You join it out of curiosity, and soon you find yourself coming back more and more after getting a little bored of the admittedly over-saturated minigame servers. Being in the position the server is gives it a very niche but consistent community (niche from the lack of coverage the server gets from mainstream Minecraft YouTubers and Minecraft server advertising websites, and consistent from players wanting to grind and level up their characters and explore a land they've never seen in other servers before).

Of course, these players will most likely leave Minecraft as a whole in the future because of growing up, but lately there seems to be a rise in people coming back to it (me included - I took a 2-3 year break and I've only just recently returned), so there's hope for new content to appease both new and returning players.

Another thing with a question like this is looking at the staffing and money queries regarding the server. As some of us have, the staff may soon want to move on from Minecraft and go on to different things, so it's understandable that the server could close because of a lack of qualified staffing (personally I don't seem like this is likely because of the dedicated players that would love the opportunity to put their soul into a project like this, but still, it's a possibility). Also it takes a lot of money to host and look out for a server like WynnCraft, but hopefully with the community we have and Grian's YouTube channel this shouldn't be too big of a problem for the mean time.

So to answer your question, do I think Wynn will last forever? Most likely not, as others have said nothing can last forever. But I do think it'll stick around for a long time to come. With content updates hopefully on the horizon and a rejuvenation of the Minecraft community, I don't see why it would have a reason to end anytime soon.

 

Can't really predict how long a server will last; but hopefully the server will last for a long time.

 

I saw it last until they finish it.
Obviously, we only have 2 more provinces, and after that probably some polishing updates, and stuff to finish off content.
Once that's over, I'm not sure what will be left, I mean, to be honest, I would prefer to see them move on to a new project, maybe there own game.

 

The way the admins handle the community makes me think that wynncraft could be dead by 2021.
