Wynncraft Merchandise?

Hi there! I joined Wynncraft last November, and I really like it. However, when I was looking at the store (I think I’m going to get a rank this summer) I noticed that there was no merchandise (such as T-shirts, cups, and poster maps). I did a bit of research, and it turns out there are a few posts from 2015 and 2016 contemplating the idea of making merchandise, although nothing ever came of it. Since then, I presume that the player base has increased, and I know it has about doubled since Grian’s mentioning of the server on Hermitcraft. Do you think someone with the rights to Wynncraft’s logos and brand could make some merchandise?

I remember seeing a poll of sorts a while ago regarding merchandise, like, if they made it, if people would buy it, and from last I saw it was an overwhelming yes, thought the results may have changed when I wasn't watching. Either way, I would definitely appreciate seeing official Wynncraft Merch, and would be sure to pick some up.

Well, they have about a few thousand players on at any given time, so maybe that’s enough players...

 

They won't do it becouse that would actually require effort.

But on a serious note, they won't do it becouse they would have to literally have to commission hundreds of their merch to be made since producing things in small numbers is to costly.

 

I think merchandise would be a great improvement. Not only do players get to boast their commitment to their friends, they attract more players by spreading the name. I think at this point Wynncraft is ready to start implementing merchandise. Something I have in mind comes from a Fortnite reward, where if you beat a certain amount of missions in Save the World by a certain time, you were mailed a physical pin as a souvenir. I think something like this would be more a reason to grind, and work extra hard. The only problems I see with this, is the production of pins being too high, and also retail of pins. A way this could be countered is by only making a certain number of pins, giving them to the first players to do something for example, and then send them to the players. A way resale could be countered is by putting the players name on the pin, so if someone else bought it, they clearly weren't the ones to earn it. Clearly much more thinking needs to go into this thought, but it seems like it could be interesting.

 

Unfortunately, for all the trouble to design all the merchandise well, finding a trustworthy merchandise site, production, shipping, customer service for late deliveries etc, I doubt it is quite viable yet, even with the current yet temporary influx of new players. We probably will need much more fans, a more constant flow of new players and have someone in the team who has a lot of free time to spare (which seems pretty rare), before we see merchandise. Otherwise Wynncraft will probably be making a huge loss.

Still, Wybel plushies will still be pretty amazing! We can only dream...

Wybel plushes would be amazing but sadly the developers have stated it could never happen because it could lead to potential Wybel abuse if they are brought to the wrong hands. However, as of recently it has been confirmed that the Sensual Yahya Dakimakura is in the making, with over 9,000 pre-orders.

You'd be amazed that fricking Grian has his own goddamn merchandise, and he sells fricking huge heads of himself! Grian man, he just won't give us Wybel plushies.

 

I’m not totally sold on the complexity of making merchandise, because there are plenty of companies that, if you give them your logo, will manufacture and ship your merchandise and give you a cut of the profits (one example is Printify). I think that, with a little advertising and enough interest, the owners of Wynncraft could sell merchandise.

 

Grian has almost 3 millon subscribers and gets almost a half a millon or more views a video. Merchandise is not free on their end. Its an investment, they have to pay to have things done and in the end the hope is that they make profit versus their cost. I don't know Wynncrafts average player count, but I am doubtful that its enough of a base, considering that most of the base is young and wouldn't have the money to actually buy products. In the end its really just not worth it, I could see them doing it for events but not in the store itself.

 

I'd love to see some merch of Wynncraft. Some ideas I came up with:

Little figurines of all the classes (weapons maybe included)
Plushies of Wybels, obviously
Posters of well-known characters or mobs, like Yahya, or this or this
Mugs with Wynncraft's logo, or variations thereof
Badges!

Kids playing Wynncraft is rather unlikely, considering the *ahem* community, but you are right about that, but Grian is a top-admin on the server, but these past few years he feels like he's more engrossed into his channel than Wynncraft itself
