Matrojan Idol Uses Regular Flamethrower?

I didn't have much chance to observe, but even with Curse a 5k bombs build didn't shred phase one before it got off a few flamethrowers. I'm 99% sure they were regular flamethrowers rather than Heavy.

 

Yeah, it uses regular flamethrower, otherwise it would probably cover the entire arena. Boy, would that be fun!

 

It used to be Heavy? Or am I completely deluded?

 

If you're talking pre-1.18 then I have no clue, but I don't remember it ever using heavy flamethrower in my encounters with it

 

@Selvut283 would know, he's usually the one designing these boss fights and I've seen him talk about this guy's flamethrower in particular before. Not sure if a change ever came of that discussion, but I'd let him say.

 

Would have been pre-1.18, he used to always beat me with Heavy Flamethrower (or so I thought?). I haven't seen his flamethrower at all since 1.18 because I just spam Arrow Storm with my TTide at close range before he can cast.

 

He had a 1/5 chance to use Heavy Flamethrower but distance-testing showed that to just straight-up cover the whole arena, so it was changed to normal Flamethrower.
