Art Do Seagulls Have Sea Goals?

Haven't posted on this forum in a very long time. But I recently went on the server again so I might as well reappear on the forums :) I really went out of my comfort zone with this one to try a new style, especially influenced by the artist, Varguy.

Seagulls definitely need some work since I don't have much experience with drawing avians. Expression on the center seagull is priceless though haha.

 

Loving the way everything is lit! So warm :0 And a perfect mix of beauty with silliness hahaha

 

Nice. The hand is a little distorted though.

 

It didn't feel distorted to me. Maybe it's how I see things lol

Great artwork. It's well-lit and positive. The terrain is also drawn great. I like the background and foreground clouds both. And the characters look great

 

At first when I saw the pun title for this thread, I was skeptical (haha); but I love the positivity of the picture and I'm impressed how effortlessly it appears that you crafted the whimsical nature of the scene. I wonder if you received any inspiration from cover art of the Pokemon mystery dungeon games, as oddly enough I had felt some of those vibes when initially seeing your work..

This section of the forums has always been my favorite for a reason since I love seeing the creativity that my fellow Wynn players exhibit :)

(By the way, your seagulls look great! Continue drawing birds, and I am sure you will succeed in making them even more and more convincing!)

 

Thanks a lot for such a lengthy comment, really puts a smile on my face to see that you liked it! As for Pokémon mystery dungeon, you’re right now that I think about it! Perhaps I subconsciously drew from my fond memories of Explorers of Sky.
