Hey All, Love This Server And Want To Get The Word Out

Hey hey all, I'm a pretty new player but I'm absolutely in love with this server. So I've started to spread the word where ever I can, starting with /r/MMORPG. Seems to have a mostly positive reception over there too.

Here's the post if ya want to check it out or respond to some comments. I'm still really new and could honestly use some help answering people's questions.

I'm also gonna do a review/intro post soon over there for the server because it was requested and would love some help writing that up, cause once again, I'm pretty inexperiences lol.

EDIT: Could you leave some pros and cons about the server? I'd love to compile a list and post a better introduction to the server over there. I would do my own list but I feel like I'm just too inexperienced with the server to give a really good idea of the pros/cons.

Do it, I could honestly use the help. Especially with the people screeching about the cash shop as though it's the worst cash shop every introduced to a game.

I think most of the negativity in the comments though is just "MINECRAFT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Lots of genuine interest though, so I'm hoping I convinced at least a few people to check the server out.

Dude, it gets so much better. There's one guy just nonstop screeching about the cash shop and loot boxes, like Wynncraft is the only game to ever use a cash shop and like servers are free to run.

 

It's nice to see more and more people finding out about this mmorpg and try spreading it! I love this server too. In fact it feels more like its own game, seperate from minecraft.


However, 90% of the people in the comment section are shit talking the game with their completely irrelevant prejudices... I wonder the average IQ of all the people in that sub lmao (what could you expect from reddit anyways). All those retards calling this game PAY 2 WIN (EXCUSE ME WHAT THE F?) just drove me crazy. I guess someone really has to answer all the comments.

 

The constant P2W argument is really boggling my mind as well, like all they did is SEE a cash shop and immediately assumed the absolute worst.

And yea, lots of shit talking but there is a lot of interest too. I've counted at least 5 people who have said they're gonna try it out, so if even one of them play I'll consider it a win.

EDIT: Also, yea, the sub is an absolute cesspool. It's a lot of jaded MMO players who hate the genre now and just want to complain nonstop about every new game. I'm amazed I got any positive reaction at all.

 

I really dislike the fact that people are blinded by the negative connotation that Minecraft has received over the past few years. They should know that each server has its own community, it's not just one. And each community isn't always toxic, like Wynncraft's. They should also know that Minecraft isn't only a game, but an engine. Using server plugins, you can make pretty much anything that's within Minecraft's limits. Looking at Wynncraft, they definitely reached those limits. And frankly, if I were them, I would be very impressed by this. But of course there's always the argument of graphics, and I get it. Minecraft doesn't have very good graphics. But that shouldn't prevent them from playing or trying out an MMORPG in Minecraft, which is an achievement on its own.

While I do think Wynncraft isn't the best, I still believe it's a great server––no, a game. It could be better, but I'm sure as hell it will get there some day.

 

This is pretty cool! It's good to see Wynncraft gathering a player base from communities dedicated to MMORPGs.

 

I don’t want to make a reddit account just for this, but here’s some pros/cons I can think of:

Pros:

• Beautiful and detailed builds
• Really hits home on the RPG feel with a unique item system, unique OST tracks for each area, unique cities, etc
• Impressive for running on Minecraft as an engine; Who would’ve thought that custom models and scripted cutscenes could be possible
• Grinding isn’t required/the focus, leveling up combat level is quite easy with quests, discoveries, etc. The real grinding, professions, can be completely skipped if you don’t mind not using crafted items or buying them from other players
• Contrary to popular belief, little to no P2W. The closest thing to it is extra class slots from ranks (which you don’t need anyway, most people won’t want to play the main game 13 times) and bombs, which affect the whole server. This means that just because you don’t buy bombs doesn’t mean that you’ll never get these bonuses.
• There’s a focus on side content, things like dungeons, boss altars, professions, etc are explained to you and aren’t completely ignored
• An absolutely insane amount of content, I’ve sunk more hours into Wynn than any other video game
• Idk if it’s just me, but the texture pack and the minecraft graphics are just so charming to me. The fact that something I grew up with can be turned into something like this is amazing.
• Run by a team that actually cares and not doing it for the money (CT isn’t even paid, they do it for the love of the game, which is really admirable)

Cons: (most of these are because of Minecraft’s limitations)

• Can be buggy at times
• Some animations are clunky, such as the Fallen Factory cogs and the cutscenes in Memory Paranoia still haven’t been updated yet
• Of course, there’s problems that come with every MMO, like inflation in economy, boring and tedious grinding, etc.
• Most boss fights suck, I’d say the only ones that get a pass are YahyaBot, Antikythera, Garaheth, Charon, Wybel, Matroshkya Idol and its LI counterpart, and most of the other boss altars
• Not much endgame content
• Boring fetch quests in the beginning, though these are slowly becoming a thing of the past since a lot of them are being replaced with new ones

Yea sure, how is the server gonna survive if it's made completely free.
And the store stuff are all optional, they are all cosmetics or bombs that affect whole server. Maybe controversially the Marketplace slots available for ranked players.
Clearly someone judged the book by it's cover.

 

A lot of the comments jumping on the cash shop have no idea what they're talking about. I just responded to someone who said:

"Charging money to play is okay, charging money for power is not, etc"

Like... what? What? Did you even.. ya know.. open the shop?

So much prejudice against the server for it’s shop and being a minecraft server. Most assume the shop is pay for power (which it isn’t lmao) and dismiss the server. Some also dismiss the server for it being in minecraft and being a “ normal minecraft server”

also don’t bother with the pro or cons shit. that sub does not fucking care for any kind of variety in their games. The instant they see paid shit on the store they call out pay2win. Then instant they see minecraft they dislike it. It’s a pretty bad circlejerk of elitist fucks. Go on r/minecraft and have people’s thoughts on it. They’re obviously more accepting and willing to listen.

Mostly because there was definitely a positive reaction to it. A lot of the comments are idiots, but I've seen quite a few people who are gonna try the server or want more info now.

 

The wave of toxic people on a high horse without any clue what they're talking about, that hit me when I opened the comments on the reddit post is stunning. It gets better when you scroll further down, but the fact that people would dislike a game just for beeing within minecraft (the game with the biggest, most diverse and longest lasting playerbase) saddens me. Please don't be that narrow minded about anything in life ppl

 

Glad to see you’re enjoying the server! I also like to spread the word. Only issue is that this is in Minecraft and that alone drives a lot of people away from it due to negative stigma

 

Just read through all the comments, and I'm fairly disappointed. I feel like I'm gonna make a Reddit Account just for this so I can speak with some of the more egregious examples of "They have a store sells lootboxes, buying power isn't okay, P2W, Minecraft sucks cause combat"

I actually added an edit to the post to address the people whining about it being Minecraft. Basically said: I hope I never hit a point where I'm such a jaded asshole that I can't enjoy a video game.

It's like.. we get it. You don't enjoy a certain game. That doesn't make everything associated with the game bad. I really hate the "kids" argument too.

I don't enjoy Fortnite, I also don't spend hours shitting all over it because "kids".

I've never understood the "stigma" around games like Minecraft and Fortnite.

Who gives a fuck if the age range skews younger. I can vividly remember when the entire gaming hobby was mocked for being for kids.
