Is The Hero Rank Worth It?

Hi, so if there's any of you who has the Hero rank, can you please tell me if it is worth it? I'm planning on buying it right now. But, does the Hero rank feel special enough? If you get what I mean, if not, do the perks or the additional items you get feel a little bit more exclusive? Also, I'm not really sure, correct me if I'm wrong, but are the exclusive classes have different set of skills? Anyways, thank you for reading my post.

 

if you're new to the game and not sure what rank to get i would take vip+

you can always get hero later and vip+ has more than enough good stuff

HERO and VIP+ don't change gameplay. They are purely cosmetic. The ranks are intended to be donations with bonuses, not purchases.

The hats are pretty frickin' epic and mob totems are cool. Never cared too much for class re-skins.

 

No, Wynncraft literally don't 'sell' because of EULA. They can accept donations and give perks. The closest to selling is server bombs but that's not what the thread is about. I 'bought' my rank to support the server knowing it gave no game changing bonuses. I don't even use the totems. I just like the weapon skins.

 

They might call them "donations" but we're buying things. A while ago there was a suggestion for a way to donate to the server and either Salted or Grian refused it, becouse they would feel scummy for taking people's money and not giving anything in return. They literally refused donations. They are selling things.

 

Exactly. And there's nothing wrong with this at all given how positive the payment model is. You either get cool cosmetics or things that help everyone like bombs and totems, making donations good for everyone rather than leading to a Pay2Win which is why I think Wynn's monetization is ingenious.

Nothing wrong with buying a rank. Probably gonna pick up one myself on the next sale since I missed the last one, but Easter's right around the corner.

 

I feel like it's worth it just to support the devs to help maintain wynncraft. It's basically a full-featured game with more content being added, why not pretend that you're basically buying a 40-60$ game with a few benefits added on the side? But it's really just up to you, see how much you like playing wynncraft and see if the benefits seem like something you'd feel like you'd want.

 

I agree that you should get things in exchange but I don't agree they're selling products. It's a donation with perks. Like getting a blanket or T-Shirt from a charity. Instead we are getting hats and pets.

I agree with the model too. I still think it's a donation with goodies/perks.

 

Here's my advice:

Start off with forcing yourself to not buy the hero rank, no matter what. If you still really want to buy it after a week or two of actively playing the game then it's probably worth it. You could also apply this idea for the other ranks too if you wanted.

Also, here's a diagram that splits apart the practical benefits, cosmetic benefits and the nice benefits if you want it. Part of it is opinionated - for example some might find the extra class slots more beneficial than others:

I'd go for VIP+ if I were you. It costs less and is really all you need, as other people said, you can upgrade it later. I bought VIP+ because I wanted people to see my while typing in chat and also because I wanted to help the server, mostly because of that tbh. I don't have HERO because I don't feel like spending that much more money on Minecraft since I also play a lot of other games nowadays.

 

Imo, yes. That T2 crate every day really improved my experience, regardless of it being a cosmetic only.
