What Was Your First Week Of Wynncraft Like?

My unpopular opinions thread is starting to die out, so it's time for a new community open-ended question thread!

Ahhh, the old days where we first started playing. Back when we knew next to nothing about what lay ahead in our journey, and when we did all sorts of dumb stuff. Whether you joined in 2013 or 2019, your first week (give or take a few days) was probably quite the adventure! This is a thread for sharing and remembering all your first moments on Wynn. Stuff you can share here includes friends you made, mistakes you made, and all the adventures that caused you to stick with this server.

Here's how my first week went:
- I was very careful to only join WC3, because I though that was the only server that featured the MMORPG. I thought WC1 through 18 all featured different minigames like Skyblock or Factions.
- I kept getting Ragni and Detlas confused.
- The journey from Ragni to Detlas felt like the most epic journey of my short life at the time.
- I tried going to Almuj. At level 6.
- Got my warrior stuck in a block, and I didn't play it for a month because I had no idea /kill existed.
- I lost all my soul points countless times.

 

Me trying to talk in chat not knowing its local only.
Always wondered why there's no replies in the middle of Ragni plains.

Also saw Gavel trailer back then but idk where is Gavel so I kept asking "Is Gavel out?"

And also added a friend to my friend list, always wondered why is he online 24/7 since he's on the tab list.

 

I don't remember my first week, but I do remember on my first playthrough grinding for a long time listening to the awesome desert music, and using The Traveler and Capsaicin to grind wolves at level 50.

 

Instead of following the linear path of the Emerald Trail at level 5, I decided to just run into the woods and go one direction to eventually find another player (I was looking for a friend). I looted abandoned towers and houses along the way and got some decent gear, I avoided mobs as much as possible, and I eventually saw the massive walls of Detlas in the distance. City = People = Friends, so I made my way there, and upon walking through those gates I remember my chat suddenly going from quiet to flooded with messages from players buying and selling goods. This was when I knew, I was at home

 

So all I remember is that I did that sewer quest like a few days before pregavel or something and grinded rats. Then I quit.

 

My first week of Wynncraft, I suppose, would be watching my sister play it.

Did you ever come back?

 

Funnily enough, everything I'm writing here I did only a year ago.
- First loot chest I found had 100ish emeralds in it, I decided I was rich and that I found one of few loot chests in the game
- Spent a while asking in chat random questions about what the recommended amount of people for dungeons was, etc. and being confused about why I never got answers (didn't know chat was local)
- Died far more than I would like to admit
- Got lost in the plains outside Maltic, multiple times
- Saw Nivla Woods from a perspective I never saw it from before, thought it was the Dark Forest and ran away (I had looked on the online map a bit before joining)
- Considered making a forums account to post a creative world (housing) suggestion
- Thought HERO Beta was a separate minigame
- Someone showed me what lootrunning was, I decided it was pointless
- Got lost in too many different places
- Thought the Wynn Plains would be too big of a region to remember how to navigate
- When I found Detlas I came to the realisation that chat is local, and started hanging out there more often to try to buy low level wands (was confused why nobody had any)
- Spent far, far too long playing the game
- I thought Mage was the only class that had spells until like a week and a half after I started


And that's just what I remember right now, there's certainly way, way more dumb/funny stuff that I did on my first week in Wynn. Can't believe it was only a year ago.

 

• when i first joined in 2015 i never left ragni because i didnt know how to do quests so i quit for like a year
• came back when a friend showed it to me and i grinded at emerald trail on a warrior class until around lvl 12 because i was too scared to go into nivla
• once i went into nivla i didnt see the sign for detlas so i ended up walking towards nemract until i saw lvl 20 mobs and was like nope and went back
• i didnt know the enderchest existed (until like lvl 20) so i carried all my items on me the whole time
• i also didnt know how to use spells so i didnt use any until lvl 24
• i only joined wc13 (because my name at the time had the number 13 in it) because i thought i'd have to start over if i joined a different server
• i didnt know the map existed so when i got lost i just panicked and wondered around for hours hoping i wouldnt die because i thought i'd lose all my stuff if i did (first time i died was either at lvl 57 or to the giant rat)

 

- got lost around ragni area
- high level player came by me and called me a noob
- went into nvidia forest and got rekt by spiders
10/10 would wynn again

 

Wow, you had some rough times.
I joined before the mob update, and this is what I remember:
-I wasn't as confused as you were: I had watched my brother play it before and already had some pre-emptive knowledge. (He doesn't play anymore.)
-I remember not fully understanding what the quests said, as I hadn't learned as much english back then
-I chose the mage class since I though that sounded cool
-My brother had played archer: at first I thought every class had the same spells unlocked in diferrent order.
-I didn't find the forums until like a year and a bit later.

 

Lol these were some good times XD
I joined during the final patches of the Gavel update

- first class was assassin but then died at a low lvl and lost all my shit ... (then i chose archer)

- played with another friend and we both competed to see who could get to 100 faster

- other friend quit ;_; cus i was 2 tryhard lol

- was like lvl 60 by the end of the 5th day

- thought i could get by my wynn career without ever getting a mythic (i thought mythics were some of those like super hard to get items that only cool veterans had)

- then discovered csst ._.

- discovering new shit and locations was soo fun tho everytime i saw something kewl i just sat there in aw Xd

- Taproot was my favorite quest (still is) idk why

 

i got lost in old nemract between 5 minute lag spikes

I never left ragni, everyone was just fighting zombies at the east gate and later I got to lvl 31 just by spending hours in that small pigmen cave on the emerald trail. I can't remember if it was at the end of 2013 or middle 2014

 

This is what I remember. I first joined before the Gavel update:
- The game felt so new, really unusual, super unique compared to the "generic" RPG servers
- My first class was mage
- I got lost easily everywhere, I wanted to go to Maltic however I always ended up in Elkurn, or even the Savannah, sometimes in the Ragni plains, but even there didn't stumble upon Maltic.
- I had no idea that Nemract was an actual town, I confused it with Ancient Nemract
- I also had no idea where was the Time Valley, despite passing by it really often
- I couldn't find Drale in the Detlas Suburbs
- I had no idea a world map existed, it took me a while to figure out lmao

 

-Decided to go to Nemract before going to Detlas because I was afraid of the forest
-Died a few times on the way
-Stuck in the skeleton dungeon, had to have someone escort me out

 

I joined somewhere between wynnter and corkus. A friend told me about the server.
When i joined the first time, i had no idea what to do and had to ask my friend next day
In the beginning i threw away all unidentified items because i couldn't wear them and thought they were useless, i only used normal items for a week, then i found out that you have to bring them to an identifier
I kept some lvl 8 boots until lvl 25, just because they had 13% xp bonus
I did decrepit sewers 7 times to get that trash necklace

 

I joined, I tried to go to Nesaak, Almuj at lvl 4
At lvl10 i walked along the mountain and reached Llevingar then i went to Olux and had no way of getting back.
I started a new class, when i was lvl10 i won 64le in Detlas from someone doing a giveaway. Found out horses where a thing. Some guy gave me choice between a brown and a white horse for 64le. I didnt know the difference so i chose brown.
Then i got to like lvl24 and it was the end of the week.

 

I ran around ragni and emerald trail, as well as nivla and I did Skeleton Dengeon a bunch of times.
