My Official Goodbye

Mandatory “I should’ve done this a while ago” before starting. Anyways, here goes nothing. I’m pretty bad at writing so please excuse me.

Its been about a year now. Time probably passes faster for those who’ve been here for 5 years already, but it still passes quickly nonetheless. And I hate to say this, but in such a short period, I’ve kind of gotten bored of Wynncraft. Not the community, there are plenty of great people around (though I’m not sure whether I can really say the same anymore), but the game itself. Even with the release of 1.18, I’ve simply stopped playing. And because of that, I feel myself coming here less and less. And even if I still had interest in the game, I no longer have time. I’ve come to realise that my grades aren’t exactly great, and my O Levels are coming up next year. At this point, it’s time I put my distractions away and actually started to focus on my studies. Needless to say, spending my entire free day on Wynncraft just to get a few levels up isn’t really worth sacrificing my grades for. And yes, I know I can simply quit the game but lurk on forums on discord, that should be okay, right? Well, although it doesn’t take up as much time as playing Wynn itself, I’m running out of ideas on what to post. The posts I make are getting more and more boring and less and less interesting to read. I have no more fresh ideas for shitposts. Basically, I’m done for. There’s not too much of a point sticking around anymore. I may just come back and check on what’s going on every now and then, but don’t expect to see me too often anymore. My time here is up.

And for the community aspect. Now, as much as many people say “the community has become toxic”, and shit like that, I’ve got nothing against the community, if you don’t like the people who put others down, just avoid them. Stick with the people you like, and you shouldn’t have too much of a problem with retards. That’s all I have to say.

@Bramblesthatcat : You are actually nicer than most of my real life friends, and I’d probably hang out with you a lot if I knew you in person. Thanks for being around as a nice person to talk to.

@Stag2001 : I still remember the days where I would always go to you for help whenever in doubt. Thanks for being a great moderator and cat.

You know, I’m not really all that invested in wynncraft. Sure, sometimes I just need to unwind a bit so I boot up the launcher and join the servers and have a little adventure, but I usually don’t play it during my free time. It’s a miracle that I haven’t forgotten it already and moved on.

That miracle is what keeps me around. It’s the community. One of the least toxic and most intresting communities I have the honour of being part of. Since I can usually just grab my phone and go to the forums in just a moment, it takes about 10 seconds to enter a world of Yy’s elaborate shetposts and crazy chalenges, the item team’s lame puns, and perhaps most suprisingly: occasional political discussion that isn’t going to scar anyone for life.
That’s what keeps me around. Seeing others have a wonderful adventure and wanting to be a part of it.

And that’s why it hurts so much to see a part of it go. First Prez and Zed, then shoutbox, and now you.
