Info Spoiler Rule

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow the Captain Marvel movie is releasing. As it is a very hyped up movie, we're bringing back the no spoilers rule. This means that you are not allowed to spoil the movie, including fake spoilers, on our platforms (ingame, forums, official discord). If you do spoil the movie, you may get muted or otherwise punished.

This rule will be in place from now until the 22nd of March, which is about 2 weeks after the movie releases. We will also be doing this rule for when the next Avengers comes out, and for any other major movies, such as Star Wars episode IX. Finally, tomorrow we will also be opening a channel on the Discord where you can freely talk about the movie and other spoilery stuff, called #spoiler-chat.

captain marvel anything shouldn’t even be in the main wynncraft section. So you should really state this in the sections where you are allowed to talk about Cap marvel

I understand why this is a thing as no one likes to be spoiled, but this has nothing to do wynncraft as a whole and should be moved to the notice board or community tavern.

 

The thread is about the rule, not about the movie. As the rules affect everyone in Wynncraft, it affects Wynncraft as a whole, and thus it does fit in the Wynncraft section ^^. Posting it in community tavern would also mean a lot less people would see it, which would be bad.

 

Ok I can understand that, but there's nothing against it being put on the notice board, furthermore you should probably pin this otherwise it will get lost quickly and people will forget about it.

 

This reminds me of the time where I got banned from the Wynn Discord for saying "Han Solo dies in Infinity War" lol

Hm, this piece of legislation is very vague as to when it is okay to discuss movies. So if I'm casually discussing or talking about Captain Marvel in Detlas, and a mod happens to be there without my knowing of. I'm going to be punished for that? If I'm on the forums on an appropriate thread, talking about something that contains spoilers, and it's very clearly a thread about the movie. And some guy decides to go onto the thread, then isn't that their fault? I'm assuming that when you say don't spoil movies, you more specifically mean to not go out of your way to ruin the experience for other people? Censorship in any form/fashion should be addressed with clear cut lines. No one likes their speech inhibited, especially when everyone everywhere shushes you over these discussions. So a clear distinction as to when and where it is appropriate to discuss movies should be outlined.

 

You can talk about the movie all you want in the #spoiler-chat discord channel that I will open today. You can talk about the movie elsewhere on our platforms, but in that case make sure it doesn’t contain any spoilers.
