Recently I've decided to rejoin Wynncraft after not playing for awhile and this time I wanted to reach the endgame for Wynn, or at least try to, as I haven't done it before. But since I haven't touched Wynn in a good while and I've been out of the loop on gear and builds, I've been overwhelmed on where I should begin and I have plenty of questions.

    1. Should I focus on creating a build so early on in the game or should I only really worry about it later down the line?

    2. If I should focus on making a build early on, what are the best elements for each class? Or is it just all preference?

    3. Any specific items I should keep a look out for as I go through all the quests and dungeons?

    4. Should I utilize the player market/trading early on, or would it be better to wait until endgame where I can farm mythics and craft better gear to sell and trade?

    5. Do I really need to be worried about getting specific items and weapons for endgame builds or is it not that big of a deal?

    6. Should I focus a lot of time on crafting in the new update?

Those seem to be the questions that I can ask off the top of my head at the moment of writing, any answers would be very much appreciated and would go a long way to helping this poor goat actually get somewhere.

    Here are my suggestions:

    1) I wouldn't focus on a certain build until end game simply because most new armor you're going to get in early levels will be better than the stuff you're wearing. Builds are mainly used for meta game with certain weapons.

    2) Elements are just preference early on. Once you get near end game, then you'll most likely want to choose what element(s) you'll want to use.

    3) Most important items will be more important as time goes on. If you see an item with ids you like, go for it. If not, keep progressing until you find a better item to use. Like before, most dungeon items will be seen with higher importance than early game.

    4) The marketplace is most useful for end game players, but you can try to use it via searching for items you want at any point in a playthrough. I'd use it if you want gathering tools without doing dungeons or if there's an item you need and you'd rather not search for it.

    5) I'd wait to worry about endgame armor until you reach end game. If you find something viable though, go ahead and save it for when the time comes.

    6) Crafting is best progressed with the player level, plus it allows you to custom create weapons, armor, and healing items for the mere price of taking the time to gather and craft it. I'd recommend using it as much as possible so you can keep creating things equal to your combat level.

The game allows multiple types of playthroughs so don't worry too much about builds or the end game. If you're starting from the beginning, it's going to be a while before you need those kind of builds. I hope you enjoy playing the game!

    Also is that Toriel...

Hello and welcome back. I'm a forum lurker, but I can help you with these questions:
    1. Down the line. Around 60+ you may need to build a little, but 90+ is where the challenge increases dramatically and builds become far more diverse along with their items.
    2. Each class has an affinity, but not a required element. Elements to classes as follows: Earth/Fire = Warrior, Thunder = Assassin, Air = Archer, Water = Mage. Archer and Mage both use water and air a lot to increase spell damage (Intelligence is linked to mana cost reduction and spell % or raw items). Defense is the least impressive for archer, but is great with warriors and assassins due to defense mechanics. Mages use water and thunder or water and fire most the time (they didn't have many options for earth outside gaia until just recently). Assassins are the most versatile but least mobile as vanish is only useful in combat and select other instances (slight jump and speed boost). Assassins can use any element to basically the same effect but doesn't normally outdo the other classes, rather it does moderation the best.
    3. Depends heavily on playstyle and only after 60+. Before 60+ you'll be tossing away items pretty quick.

    That ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    5. Yes, but only for end game stuff. Specific items like Master Hive or Corrupted Dungeon specifics are easy. It's mob/chest loot items that will be problematic.
    6. I haven't used the crafting system yet (I got to level 20-30 in harvesting rn). The items appear really powerful near the end-game and are being balanced thoroughly. I'd keep an eye on the Changelog if you're interested in crafting and want to know when this will change and what they'll be like.

    1. No point in substantial build-making prior to level 60 or so, unless you're planning to complete all of the boss altars (in which case, see my poorly-illustrated game difficulty by levels) - note, this chart is all relative to intended level, so ToA 1st floor is not as hard as lvl 80 general content for a lvl 80 player, but much harder than typical lvl 40 content).

    3. Keep untradable quest gear rewards from level 50+ in case you need them (e.g. Detective's Ring ins endgame viable). Royal Stormy is the best choice out of the WynnExcavation reward amulets unless you're going full melee. Imo Bob's Mythic is better as a secondary to cover another element than as a primary, unless you don't have anything else good at all when you get it. SST and Ice Barrows both have quite good rewards (and ofc are correspondingly challenging). Lvl 60s rainbow armor is amazingly synchronized.

    5. Only untradable quest items, since you can't get them again without another playthrough. Everything else you can get again later without too much trouble.

1, for the first 30-40 levels its not that important, because throwing on anything you find will probably get you through, beyond that you should start focusing builds on a specific element or 2, but the 70s and 80s are a dumpster fire in terms of building.
2, Whatever suits your playstyle, some elements may work better with certain classes. (Mage Water. Archer Air. Assassin Thunder. Warrior Fire/Earth.) but some elements sorta suck on certain classes because of game mechanics. (Water Warrior and most notably Fire Archer.)
3, Any that suit your playstyle/level range. you can use Wynndata to view all of the items in game.
4, I would say the trade market is more vital for late game players than early game players, but it could still be useful for getting some items to help you progress.
5, Endgame builds are important, you may want to keep later game quest reward items as you cant get them again without re-leveling a class. Other items should be easy to find again though.
6, I havent used crafting hardly at all yet so I have no information for you.
