    I have a question,

Why do Rare items and Unique items give the same profit? after calculating the difference between how much the items identify for and then sell at the blacksmith, they give the same profit margin. Shouldn't Rare items give much more since they're "Rare" ? In my experience (which is only for me and could be by chance) I have lost emeralds on almost all of my farming trips due to the Rare item sell rate not being large enough from the identify rate. Would be better to just sell unidentified Rare items, but those barely sell for anything.

Also in frequent cases unidentified Unique items (selling unidentified) give more profit than identified rare items(identifying then selling and calulating the difference).

    pls somebady explain.

With the new update blacksmith selling prices of not only rares, but any rarity, has dropped significantly. As of right now, IDing and selling items to the blacksmith is usually not profitable, unless you sell your found items on the new marketplace.

Blacksmith sell rates are losses on average. It's quite frustrating, since it means it's often better to just skip identifying many items, or pick up normal items over higher-tier ones that I can't use.

It's like the developers tried getting rid of inflation, but they couldn't find a way that wouldn't piss people off. What they should do is make a valuable use for money, not just restrict the ways of getting it.

Well, they added more bank space. If only there was another money sink, like maybe you could pour money into buying, I don't know, a plot of land, and maybe do something with that like build your own property or something

Technically Marketplace is already very good money sink.

    1) Targets those who spends most (and probably richer)
    2) Allows for comparison of lowest prices to get the most value from your money.

So perhaps they can afford to bump up prices for selling rare items again. Right now we seem to be going through a bit of a deflation, making people want to spend less in fear of not being able to gain enough emeralds back by ingame means.

But perhaps no at the same time. Crafted items when crafted and sold in bulk would also sell for quite a lot of emeralds. It really is a debate.

IM spends hundreds or thousands of hours balancing items and trying to fill niches with uniques and rares, trying their hardest to make worth of those items. *GMs make uniques and rares utterly worthless* Economy Update everybody.

Items buyers have always been very annoying. I understand that their prices should be pretty low to encourage selling to players, but the amount they give is ridiculous. You go out on a loot run or kill mobs for a while to get items to id, then lose emeralds to the blacksmith. It should be at least a 5-15% profit, for example of you spend 100 emeralds identifying something, the blacksmith will give you between 105 and 115 emeralds. This way they are not useless, but still only provide a small profit, incentivising trading between players. (Or maybe just decrease normal to legendary item drop rates, since they drop so much)

there should still be a chance to lose money when IBing stuff but I agree the avg selling should be very slightly higher than ID cost

the fact that uniques and rares aren't profitable off of the item buyer doesn't mean that in use, they're any less viable.

Net loss from item buyers mean people are less likely to keep identifiable items, so prices of good identifiables will go up relative to what they otherwise would be.

People are always complaining about inflation, but this is just going to increase relative price inflation of identifiables.

It's marginally relevant to the IMs - higher prices mean less people using many of the identifiables vs. other alternatives.

And if IBing always gives you more money than IDing an item it means inflation, and do you know what that means? Higher prices of items. You know what that means?
Its gonna get us either way

No one is going to argue about the death of powders and lost of their price? Okay, at least I get to save up money, also as probably everyone said, a goddamn marketplace! I see mythics getting flung on there each minute and people selling a bunch of other Legendaries.
