So, this update is, tbh, way to grindy.

When it first came out, my first thought was, I'm going to get to lvl100 and be able to craft some lit gear, but now as level 40 in all professions, I ask myself what I am aiming for. It feels like there is no goal, that is generally a problem with wynncraft as a whole, you lvl up do quests lvl up then your lvl 100, but as lvl100 there is still stuff to do, LI, wybel, guild fun, each time I lvl up I say ayy look at this new quest I can do. There is also too much to do, when I combat lvl up I'm happy cause that's it, but when I lvl with professions, there are still 3 others and like 2 - 8 (depending on what your doing) to lvl up, and it just drags on, and I don't find a goal. Now I honestly think most of these problems will be gone if I started from lvl1, but the update also has to be lvl100 friendly too. Especially that's where you get more of your money, from long-time players, and I dont need to downplay the amount of effort put into the update, it is really big. I also know its entirely optional but i don't think an update this big should be brushed off as eh I don't have to do this.

A few ways to fix this would be to add things that require you to be a high enough profession lvl to do something, like quests or a dungeon or idk. This would give it a goal.
To make is more lvl100 friendly, you can have it so you need it so lvl20 stuff are actually useful and not something to just throw out until you get to lvl100, idk how though.
To make it less grindy, add quests that give profession xp and obviously is up to the player cause they can do all 12 or just 3.

I enjoy the update, what you did the detlas, tHe bEeS, the market, the quests, the tutorial, everything except the professions, which are still god, but could be better.

    Just my thoughts

The issue is that you gain combat xp at such a quicker pace than any of the gathering or crafting professions. The time it takes me to go from level 20 fishing to level 30, i could have gained a large amount of combat levels. Not to mention as you get to higher gathering levels, the amount of materials you need to collect raises exponentially. To go from 70 mining to 80 mining takes over a bank page worth of materials.

Crafting is essentially useless. There is no need to craft, EXCEPT in the endgame, and the amount of grind it takes to get to endgame crafting/gathering is WAY MORE then getting to max combat level (going to say 100 is max because it practically is). The nerfs to identifying then selling your items, and quest rewards forces you to trade with other players as a mean to get money, which in turn either forces luck based drops I. E. mythics and select legendaries to sell, or, once again, crafting.

The problem with trading to other players via the exchange or the marketplace is because of how obtuse it is. Why can't i search for people selling items on the exchange, and directly buy them? I'm instead forced to put in a buy order, which after looking at the average market price, still does not guarantee it being filled. A better way to do this, is just let us buy directly from the seller via the exchange, without the need to put up a buy order if we do not want to. This is of course ignoring the issue with the marketplace and ridiculous item prices.

    TL;DR
Gathering and Profession xp is gained too slowly.

    Crafting is useless until endgame

The Marketplace and exchange do not allow for easy exchange.

Tbh, I don't have that many problems with the crafting system because I like leveling up the professions and don't really care about actually crafting items. I feel like I'm actually working towards something as I level up in the professions. If anything, the only reason I would grind high tier ingredients and/or actually craft good items would be to sell them to other players (I legit thought about grinding Orange Wybel for Borange Fluff to spam sell it, which tbh is still a thing I would probably do). Right now, I could honestly care less if there's no actual reward I'll get for my time and effort outside of a feeling of self achievement/bragging rights. I can understand why trying to do it at lower levels would be a pain though.

However, this is coming from the guy who also calls running dungeons 100 times "fun", so yeah.
^Yeah please do that so I don't have to buy t5 tools from other people.

or make it so too level up you dont need the lvl materials aka lvl1 wood, too boost the process and get some sky wood and refine it and go up 50 lvls cause gathering is a chore enough

Maybe it's just me and I'm missing some really important feature, but my biggest problem is the inventory space. When I first heard about the weight system, limiting how many resources you can hold at once, I thought there would be like a separate inventory for gathered materials. But nope! It just shares the same space--it's just like Gavel again with the jewelry, except even worse and unfulfilling. If we're being really generous, this would mean you're losing three inventory spots right off the bat if you want to pursue a single line of crafting: one for the tool, another for the gathered mat your level, and a third for the refined items. Then there's at least three more if you want to craft something outside the current gathering profession, and that's not even mentioning the space needed just for ingredients. Basically, the weight limit is pretty obsolete and almost mocking, because unless you dedicate a session just for gathering and refining rather than progressing normally then you'll run out of inventory space far before you reach the weight limit.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the new tutorial. Not saying the previous one was a masterpiece or anything, but it really rubs me the wrong way when 50% of it is spent on professions, and that 50% happens first, before the combat. It artificially places more important on a new yet not nearly as fundamental feature as combat and questing, which, by the feedback of all things, is much more rewarding to pursue than professions, and just feels overall much slower. Sure, it makes sense for returning players, who want to know the new stuff, but the pacing and all can't be good at all for holding new player interest. I mean, out of the many MMO tutorials/introductions I've played, I can't think of a single one that places professions before the combat, or the story, or really anything else.

Tbh, I have no plans on lvling up my lvl 100 or any class really, just me and my lvl 18 archer, and I honestly think the gathering grind is actually fun, crafting not so much but crafting is useful, lvling up my professions overall seemed more fun than killing mobs for like forever, as the it doesn't take as much time, and if it is allowed perhaps let an AFK clicker do your work if you find a spot safe enough to not die in.

In short: I like the update. I like the crafting and I like how the terrain looks now. I think overall, the update was worth waiting for and we gained something out of it. But there are problems.

As others have already pointed out, your inventory gets clogged more easily now. I myself am terrible at inventory management, so I usually throw out unimportant items when I need space - and because ingredients are plentiful in the world, I discard them. It's hard to switch from questing and exploring to leveling my professions on a whim, because of all the items I need to put in my bank (which is also nearly full). And normal weapons are still faster and easier to get, so I'll probably be spending very little time crafting them.

And as TheGreatPiggy said, the new tutorial tutorial is too focused on professions. It also doesn't make sense story-wise: you arrive in Wynn, without a weapon for some reason, and two dudes teach you how to make your own. That's not Fruma sending their soldiers, it's throwing out cannon fodder. And the crafting slows the tutorial down to a crawl. Think of how other games started out: Skyrim, The Witcher 3 and NieR:Automata all began with a big battle or attack of some kind, Bioshock Infinite's opening was strange and magical and took a turn for the worst within minutes, Assassin's Creed 2 showed you how Ezio's family got murdered... it's all exciting and sets the whole game up. Sure, Wynncraft's tutorial before wasn't much to write home about either, but now it's even less so.

The world does definitely look better now, though. I'll miss the old Detlas, but the new one is much more like a hub, and there are plenty of parkour opportunities. The Coast is also an actual coast now, which is an amazing improvement (and there are crabs now so odds are I'll be trying to remake the Crab Rave meme with them, yay).

to be fair, it seems that the corruption shouldn’t have reached as far as is did. I think Fruma just expected you to be able to get to Ragni to be armed without being attacked by zombies

I personally love the update and everything that comes with it. Sure there are some flaws, but they can be fixed with some work. Profession quests should definitely be a thing. I love the new detlas, the whole world was remade basically and its beautiful. Everything is awesome. A lot of people dont like the new things, just because theyre new, but theyll grow to love them eventually, I’m sure
