is curse commonly regarded as the best powder special? if not, why did you choose it?

Curse gives the largest damage increase, but Courage affects all types of damage. Courage probably gives more damage during the special, but Curse allows for much better penetration.

I'd say that depends on what you want to do with the build.

 

I'd like to point out that curse gives a 210% boost to all damage. Courage gives a 125% boost to fire damage and a 150% boost to all damage, so it's the other way around. Courage has the largest boost when using only fire, while Curse is overall more worth it when using multiple elements.

that's why you use curse with rainbow and not courage. It has better neutral % which affects all elements. If you have water and any other element on your weapon: use curse. If you have only fire; use courage. Otherwise it's up to you.

 

Ah, I somehow must have missed that Curse affects all damage. The only other differences is that Curse affects a single target, while Courage gives boosts to any player within the vicinity when it's activated (iirc), against all targets.

 

i'm relatively sure that the 125% boost to fire damage is the initial hit that appears upon activation (a tiny quake basically)

anyway, courage vs course is debatable.
curse: more general damage
courage: practicality (don't get me wrong, curse still has tons of uses, just courage has more)
