You know the company that does shaving products? They made a video talking about how men should strive to be better. The message is good. The controversy, however, is just about as political as you expect it to be. The like/dislike ratio and the amount of fragile "alpha male" egos and "I'm never buying another Gillette product ever again" remarks in the comments show that.

What they're saying is that we(men) need to be accountable for the actions of others, and I have never heard a more moronic statement.Period. I'll ask you do we hold women accountable for other womens actions? While the message that they're trying to convey is noble, that we need to stand up to others when they do wrong, but it's severly skewed towards one gender, and you can guess which. Why is it that now a days that men must hold themselves accountable to other mens actions? The day we ask women to be accountable for other womens actions Gillette can ask men to be accountable for other men's actions. You can't just ask one gender to suck it up, since they enjoyed power in the PAST.

The problem is two fold, the message they're trying to convey is easily lost and misinterpreted and generally shit two, people just hate politics fucking up everything else like some giant shit for brains goliath

Politics and products must never mix because your consumer base doesn't belong to one ideological narrative, and that's just them be unhappy since Gillette mixed politics and a business. That's just the consumers expressing unhappiness for mixing politics into their products, and the internet being the internet exaggerated their discontent.

The controversy just proves how the world is a terrible place. Nobody wants to be told the truth. And when it's told, it's removed because some people cannot stand the truth.
So, the truth has to be told. No matter the consiquences.
Not telling the truth causes huge scandals and hurts people once revealed. And telling the truth causes huge controversy? It's a catch 22. Do it, bad things, don't, bad things.

But the ultimate reason for this is that people are lazy. They don't want to change. I think we all know that feeling very well.
I'm not even going try to fully understand this mess.
For example, you say the message is "we need to stand up to others when they do wrong" and you say the message is "generally shit"
So we SHOULD NOT STAND UP TO OTHERS? What?
Even if the point is that it's sexist against men because men need to do it, not women, the message is still a good message. Even if it's directed at only one gender.

I agree on one thing: politics are absolute garbage and should be updated.

The message that they WANT to convey is that "EVERYONE should try to stand up to others when they do wrong" but what they END UP conveying is that "Only MEN should stand up to other MEN when they try to do wrong" It's skewed towards one gender, and it ain't equality, they're just trying to cash in on the craze right now, and its a scummy move

    Ok so in my eyes:

Politics don't make me want to buy your product.
Bullying is in no way exclusive to boys.
Sexism in comedy shouldn't be condemned if it's either that much of a caricature or just based on a true story.
Fighting amongst boys isn't that big a deal, but if it's harmful it should obviously be stopped by a parent. People already do this though and few people actually use "boys will be boys" as an excuse to neglect their child.
I hold every person accountable for what they did. Regardless of gender. If a person is a proven sexual abuser then they should and will be tried and convicted. What I will not do is ramble on about a problem that treats a group of people like a collective that is responsible for each other's questions.
This is the worst way to advertise a product. Even if your intentions are benevolent and honest, you're still alienating a lot of people who don't think the same way you do.
I'm not connected to rapists. As much as I wish it were different, I can't stop people from sexually assaulting others. I don't condone rape and I will not rape, but I'm afraid I can't stop the "collective of male rapists".
Women should fight against boys bullying. A child usually has two parents.
Men should fight against girls bullying. A child usually has two parents.
"Some men" already stand up against bullying, fighting, sexual harassment, etc. No. I'm pretty sure most men will help their child in a time of need, address their behaviour and I most certainly do not think that only "some men" would actually care about sexual harassment.

But hey, that's just another opinion you can shit on.

Compare the two commercials side by side, which one convinces you to buy their product more? Cause that is all I care about in a commercial.

Welcome back to another episode of "things that we shouldn't really care about, but we do!" Today, we have a commercial. The purpose of a commercial is to advertise a product. I saw no product advertisement in that commercial, therefore it fails it's purpose as a commercial. Thanks for watching, thats all that has to be said here.
