If the new armors dont have sick ass 3D models im gonna freak out

I think armor models are only reserved to the reskins found in crates (the black market ones) so nah

Only helmets can be models unfortunately, Minecraft doesn't support models for armor

 

so you’d rather get a warning point and a mod lock instead of a friendly warning from a player?

 

If I remember correctly, it's because you can put any block on your head

thats lame :( why were the custom armor skins now allowed?

 

Long-ish story short, implementing armor skins required Wynncraft to edit the player's skin file - a file which is stored in Mojang's databases. Every time you logged in, equipped or removed armor, or logged out, Wynmcraft would have to change your skin. With hundreds (or thousands) of players, this amounted to a ton of skin changing which was hard on Mojang's databases. They got angry at the server for putting so much strain on their systems, so the admins removed the feature.

Also creating armor skins for the amount of equipment currently in the game is no longer feasible.

What is your source on this? I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t affect their databases like that...

All you do to edit someone’s skin is edit their “game profile” and sending an update packet to players which definitely wouldn’t do much if anything to the databases..

 

CT members like Aaronitti (ik he isnt now) is the source, they said Mojang didn't like them doing it and had to stop.

 

I can't remember which thread in particular it was, but my source on that was one of the moderators.

Also, it can put a lot more strain on the database than you might expect. A player's skin is a decently sized image file, and overwriting the bitmap for an image several times in one hour for several dozen or several hundred players would be difficult on a database, especially those not optimized for write-processes.

Whether the strain was significant enough or not only Mojang really knows, but to them, it was enough of a problem at the time that they made their complaint known to the admins.
