    In all honesty, it was just so unrealistic, over the top, and so un-self-aware, that I absolutely hated it. Seriously, who writes this crap?

    Killed because of the emotional effect.
    If you see a nice person in a dark movie, 90% chance they die because it shows how horrible everything is.
    99% chance if the genre is GRIMDARK.
