No One Really Does Wynn Speedruns Do They

The only real speedrun I know of is Sebbelonien's 1-100 speedrun in 5 hours, but that was back in 2016..

I guess Wynn speedrunning is just too much of a hassle to be recognized? Perhaps we could make a section on the speedrun website for Wynncraft with some categories such as 1-100, 1-101, All Quests, etc?

the game takes quite a bit to finish, there isnt any bugs that let you get xp to the speed of 3 levels per minute at least (CSST isnt near this level of speed) and replayability in wynn is quite low
i doubt speedrunners would enjoy this

 

If you're talking about full game speedruns, it's pretty obvious why. Wynn is an open world MMORPG, where just a single attempt takes several hours to complete at best, even when speedrun. Wynn's playerbase is also minuscule when compared to popular games for speedrunning. This doesn't help the fact, that there isn't any extra reward or recognition to be had for setting a new record either.

Wynn speedrunning also can't take advantage from any% due to all exploiting being a punishable offence, which in itself kills a large (and in my opinion, most interesting) part of the sections.

 

To be fair, there's still some stuff in the game to speedrun even if a full 1-100 run doesn work. The website has levels 1-25 as one of the things you can speedrun, and there are also long quests such as ??? and WynnExcavation Site D that could be speedrunned. Dungeons are an option too that I've seen done in the past. And let's not forget about LI either!

I'm somewhat surprised that dungeon speedruns aren't much of a thing. Those would be fairly short and could be interesting, especially for the higher level and corrupted dungeons.

 

I think the main obstacle to that is that because of how IDs, walkspeed, and the server's economy work, your hypothetical maximum speed directly correlates to how rich you are. Sure, there's still an element of player skill and route optimization, but the optimal run will always be achieved by the best-equipped player.

 

i think it would be fairly possible to route a 1-100 speedrun, no dungeons, no gear from other classes. Whos to say how much time it would take, but its possible to route it lol

i did some speedruns back then... waiting for the update to pop :)

 

i remember back in the day mr sebbelonien did a stream and got to level 1-100 in 5 hours straight and thats was cool but he had constant triple xp which affected him every time he finished a quest but i guess that compensates for no csst

 

If there were certain exploits that could be classed as "ok to speed run with" we'd have a better time, but no, no exploiting sadly.

Wynncraft can be speedrunned but it takes a lot of time to do

 

Speedruns don't usually care for how long or RNG-based it could be.
Some speedruns are 200+ hours even when optimal lol
In some runs, you'd see resets before an input is entered because the situation isn't opimal

Point being, you'd be surprised. I can see routing for this being really fun actually. You could get categories like No Bank Items and Bank Items to shift the run length too

 

People do speed runs of lots of things.
They just dont record it

Most people don't really speedy run and I presume thats because there is little to do in the end game.
