Map On The Homepage

With the Economy Update, many changes to the map come along. However I imagine it to be very time consuming to update the online map... Do you think it will happen any time soon?

 

I think they have an automated system for it.

 

Its a live map showing all the blocks so as far as I'm concerned it should automatically update within a few hours of the release.

 

Really? Because the Changes of the last update aren't included yet (for example Ragni)

 

It is done with a plugin wich renders the map chunk by chunk. If updates on Ragni weren't included this was probably meant so as the plugin most likely allows you to choose and select a certain part that should be rendered. It does take a while to render it but it isn't time consuming for a human being in particular. They just type the command and then it's a matter of waiting.

 

Isn't it more like a render of the whole world?

There will most likely be changes, but I'm pretty sure it's unclear when and how exactly it will happen.

 

Well the map used to say Google Maps on it so I suppose it's powered by Google Maps or something like that

 

Nah, AFAIK the program they used for that switched from the Google Maps API to Leaflet or something like that

 

They didn't update the map when1.17 was released because (so I've heard) they removed the RtD black covering, but wanted to keep it on the map.
