Yes, the start of the video was too bright for the camera, reducing the quality and brightness. Yes there was a beam bouncing off the water, but the camera didn't pick it up. It however showed the bright dot on the tree on the other side of the lake.

depends what your burning.. you have to be close to burn paper white paper. But you can pop balloons from 10+ feet (i think, ive never tried).
