Water is not wet. For something to be wet, it has to be a dry object to begin with. Water is a liquid, thus it cannot be wet. Wet can also be described as a human emotion, as in when we touch liquid, we aren't dry and that is how we describe that feeling. Water a liquid itself, may not be wet. Another example. If you spill water on a towel, you will say the towel is wet. The towel was dry, but now it is wet because a liquid got onto the dry object. The liquid itself is not wet, but it can make other things that are dry wet. Wet links back to a human emotion.

I love when people say this and don't give any justifications. Really contributes to discussions.
I swear, to an extent this is just like the argument vs housing. Sure there are some points for not wanting it, but not nearly as many as people seem to think, and it's just taken as a fact.

Can somebody explain to me why and how mythics ruined the economy? I see that statement pop up regularly, yet I don't remember ever seeing an explanation. Genuinely interested.

Well, I wouldn't say its mythics themselves but more to the people buying and reselling them, (its a common way to make a lot of money in a short amount of time, I do it too!)
People would generally buy mythics and then sell them for more, constantly bumping up the price a bit, so it makes it that poorer people will have a very very hard time getting one (not saying its impossible)

Edit: this may not be true, I haven't touched the market in quite a while

Not sure how that's ruining the economy. Excluding the mythics from the equation, people can settle for legends, which are enough. I should know, I was on the poor side throughout Wynncraft experience. Not being able to afford a mythic doesn't alter your gaming experience that much, nor in itself is problematic for the entirety of the economy.

If anything, mythics are only showcasing how economy was broken at all times due to cheaters, lack of money sinks and poor gameplay decisions. Economy was always screwed, you just weren't aware of it until mythics became a thing. When 2 people trade mythics, money isn't being created nor spent. It's only being transferred from one person to another. Value of money stays the same throughout the process.

I hope there is another explanation, because this isn't a valid one.

Mythics are in no way required to solo LI. They make it easier, but there are thousands of examples of people beating it without them, and that doesn't even include the use of skill potions.

The actual reason is that mmorpgs have the fundamental problem of inflation. That is because money is constantly being created depreciating the current money in circulation. Mobs, quests and loot chests all constantly, mindlessly create money which causes inflation as people accumulate more and more money. Mythics are just a symptom of the inflation not the cause

    This video describes it well:

This is the correct source of the decaying economy, the real challenge, how is this related to mythics?

Obviously, which is why Mythics cost so much. I just don't agree with the statement that, "Mythics are a symptom of market inflation", for a few reasons.
    1. The intentional vagueness of that statement can lead to many interpretations.
    2. If the two balance each other, the price stays the same (which can be seen in today's market where Mythics only shift in prices dramatically during updates)
    :)
