Hey, after seeing the trailer a lot of people started thinking that uniques and rares will start to be pointless because of their durability but this is what I think:
I think that all current weapons will stay the same with no durability because otherwise uniques and rares will be completely pointless, I think that instead they will have durability on player created items, I think that players would be able to completely customize weapons and armour and that those player created pieces will have durability

    That’s just my opinion tho.

my prediction is that yeah.. they have durability.. but you repair it with your goods from mining and shit so it's intuitive and it depends on your gathering levels
eg: lvl 100 item but you need level 90 smithing or something to repair it

Yeah that could be a possibility but then again they wouldn’t want to just make uniques and rares pointless and custom items would be cool

Well if the items could be repaired, what would be the point of not having durability on legends and mythic?

So I have an idea. There are stars on each crafting material right? What if each item had a certain amount of stars on it, meaning you could only apply an amount of crafting materials onto it until the stars filled up. For example, let's say this armor had 3 stars, you could either apply 3 1 star materials on it, or apply one 1 star material and 1 two star material. Thus maybe common, uncommon, and rares had more stars making them more flexible than legendaries?

Hey, we had the same thought! I posted something similar in a different thread, although the idea about lower tier items having more upgrade slots sounds like it would be interesting.

in my opinion the durability would not actually make you lose the equipment but decreasing the stats (for example a ouroboros with 35 sp would go to 20-25 sp) but you would be able to fix it maybe with some emeralds or with a blacksmith npc

Possible but it makes more sense for it to be unusable when it looses durability, until you fix it with blacksmith or something (or just completely break)

I feel the same way. One problem I see with it though is that it'll screw basically every high level player once the update drops, as everybody is going to be racing to grind up the levels to repair their gear that requires x level of mining/smiting/whatever else.
