I'll cast ward just in case somebody takes opportunity of me being blind and yell out "Leren do you really can't afford people that know what they're doing?" And I'll wait for the smoke to disappear if nobody ambushes me.
If I get ambushed I'll blast them with fire and cast ward again

what is the travel bag made of?

If it is a decently strong material, I cut it into ~1 inch wide strips. If it isn't strong, I carve interlocking grooves into the wood planks

 

HM isn't that impresionable.

Does leather count as strong? It's apparently been treated decently enough against cold, and your sword carves it without a fuss.

He's fighting in the air, maybe 15 feet above you. You can see lines coming out of a ring he's wearing, twisting down his legs like veins, same as that elemental.

 

I shoot a flame strike below me trying to hit him "You're really saying this is your best?"

Also, I lay the planks in a grid, and use the strips at intersections, trying to form a raft

 

The end of september (roughly) is my deadline for EOD3.
It's been over a year and we're still 3 days in...

It's... It's a bad raft. It's large, it'll float, but it's going to be terrible to control, and could sink at any moment.
Maybe for a human it would be great, but you weigh somewhere in the range of 300 pounds.

You didn't see the guy dragging him down. Slightly more pressing, though, is the oddly crooked red blade he summons out of nowhere. After summoning, he slashes through a patch of air behind him.
