Build Forbidden Valley

Forbidden Valley is a large roleplay world that has been in creation for over 5 years. It is a recreation of a novel I am currently writing. It is about the fight between two sisters: Elysia and Avios. The war brought the world to its knees. The human population is decreasing everyday and cities are destroyed. The fight will never end until the one of the two sisters dies. Elysia; also known as the Darkfallen Queen, is an undead who sparked the War to start and lets it continue until everyone is either dead or is a follow of the Darkfallen. Her death was an unexpected accident. Falling off the cliff of her old church while playing a game with her sister. Avios, the Grieving Queen, was banished when Elysia died. She was blamed for her death even though she saw her die and cradled Elysia until she had her last breath. Avios was never forgiven and was sent to the frozen mountains as her punishment. Those who banished her died and now Avios tries to fight the sister she once lost. She doesn't want to hurt her but she knows that the War will end when Elysia is killed.

Blackmoor Castle: Queen Avios's castle where she plans her attacks on the undead. Most of her forces have succumbed to the Darkfallen. New recruits have been coming from all countries to serve in this war.



The Forbidden Valley: Where the War first started. Originally the birthplace of both Elysia and Avios. The Valley sits in darkness and is decaying everyday.



Angelion Manor: The Angelion Manor is home to the Demonic being known as Dtismis, Lord of the High Wither. The takeover of the manor for this demon is unknown but what lies in the crypt will tell you what happened.



Country of Isling: The worst area to be in as 98% of the human population was wiped out during the war. The entire area is filled with the undead. The "Stronghold" of Elysia is the main town known as Arden.



Arden's Rotting Hall: The last dungeon in this world. Elysia's main stronghold filled with undead. The Castle is in disrepair and certain areas are beyond repair..



Towers of the First Men: The Ancient civilization of the First Men originated near the Hidden Lake. This is the only evidence of there existence. Huge towers that pierce the sky and hold dangerous trials to those who enter.



The Forgotten City of Goldenheim: This once populated city of Dwarves suddenly dropped to no one living here just overnight a few decades ago. No one knows why but it may have to do with the undead but.. no one is there.. not even one undead. (The undead in the picture will soon be removed.. lmao)



Arden: No one lives in these empty buildings. All those who live there are the undead controlled by Elysia..



The Realm of the Darkfallen: The Realm of the Darkfallen has lost the majority of it's population... This realm is still heavily populated and the old and original stronghold of Elysia during her time here.

They are still being worked on.. Currently working on Farone Forest. You enter the forest after going to the end of the Realm of the Darkfallen

in the near future yes. It's like a custom map. It will have quests and all that. You can choose your fate as well. Take on the threat or let it grow

I’ll be putting in more color! I’m not done just yet d: The Country of Isling, Farone Forest, and Shunen Senlin have the most color and beautiful color palette

Looks really good for a build that is 5 years old! I see alot of old building styles such as slab spaming and detail repeating that Certainly Would not be acceptable today but It is under standable that you have some old building methods in your build. The first picture I looked at gave me a blast of nastalga, It reminded me of the good old days back in 1.6 and 1.7.

With that being said, there are alot of methods of construction that might be out of date in this build and I really see the need for this build to be "kept up to date" in a manner of speaking. The 1.12 update has revolutionised coloring in minecraft as it allowed for the creation of smooth color gradients. These gradients greatly enhance any structure or terrain. I strongly encourage you to include or swap out blocks for these gradients.

For your terrain I strongly agree with 7mile, I urge you to do an entire overhaul on your terrain. Please consider the use of world painter in your next terraforming project. The program is easy to learn and grasp, World machine is really good at making realistic terrain at a very large scale. The problem for your current terrain is that I can clearly see where you have used sphere brushes if you insist on using voxel or world edit instead, please take some more time and smooth your terrain more, chuck in some rocks! break up the terrain, Use cracks to make the terrain more realistic. Use some gradients.

I really appreciate you input along with 7mile ^^ The terrain will be fixed. and I will be giving the older builds more color! There are certain builds that will be the same, mainly for nostalgia and that it has some backstory c: The newer builds are much more vibrant and look amazing. I really hope that you and others will like the Farone Forest pictures that I will put up soon! This thread is Lore/Story and Builds too so you'll see me talk about the lore of each building to an extent.

 

in addition, if you you have world edit and vs (which you probably do by the looks of this)
you could just swap out the old, blander colored blocks with the new stuff with //replace, right?

 

Yea plus with the new update, 1.13, the biomes give off a new spectrum of shades too

 

Can I read the novel when it's done ? As someone writing a wynncraft storystory , your skills would be most valuable . Can't wait to play your hard worked game .Keep up the good work and good luck

 

I have no idea when it will be done.. I have other current projects but I do have a book of ideas for the novel c: I don’t forget about that

Very nice! But yeah. The terrain needs a revamp as it is bland, lackluster and unpolished.
