I’ve been wondering how to get a better horse ever since I got my first one. I’ve seen people zoom past me on there horses while on mine.

Put 2 brown horses in the crafting area in your inventory and you have a 20% chance to get a black. Put 2 blacks and you have a 20% chance to get a chestnut, etc.

You can buy one for 24 Emerald Blocks at the Ternaves Stables (right where you did the quest to get your first brown horse).

A word of advice: Horse Breeding is very random and you can end up losing lots of money and ending up with nothing more than a brown horse. I'd recommend checking the trade market to see if anyone is selling a higher-tier horse.

Like stated above you have to above you have to buy multiple brown horses in Ternaves around (x:840 z:-1650) It all depends on how lucky you are. I spent about 1 1/2 LE and got to chestnut horse. I only got the same horse back one time, and never got my horse downgraded. I don't think I'm going to push my luck right now and go for white. Important note however is that horse level is the only thing that affects speed. Eg: A level 1 brown horse is the exact speed as a level 1 white horse. Each breed has a cap though.

    Brown:10
    Black:20
    Chestnut:30
    White:40

If you aren't intending to play the game super intensively, I would recommend breeding to a black horse when you have the chance (average cost ~2 LE) and upgrading it at the dungeon merchant at Galleon's Graveyard. 25 levels of speed is pretty fast, and a chestnut horse averages around a dozen LE to breed.

I personally recommend buying a 1/30 chestnut horse off a player. Then upgrade it into a 35/35 using the help of corrupted decrepit sewer (and some keke do u love me, are u riding) . It’s a lot better than a 40/40 considering the amount of LE you can save, especially at a lower level
