Thank you for explaining this. Now I feel more encouraged to give this speedrun a try.

 

tbh to even get a sub 9 you would probably need a loot bomb to have been throwen... Since I had to buy 4 anyway I sitll have 3 left so you could msg me ingame whenever you think you are ready for a final try where I should throw a bomb!

His run was actually just spectated by me since he didn’t have recording software.

 

Oh... But doesn't that affect spawnrates of mobs a lot?

 

Does it...? There wasn’t really a problem with spawnrated with totems + double loot.

But I always thought it does have an affect on spawnrates. Mainly if you as the spectator wasn't very close to the person running, more mobs will spawn around you including ones around the other person ending up in a larger amount of mobs

 

This guy was fast and really trained to get there, not to mention buying double loot bombs just for this. He was also barely got sub 9, his time was 8.59. He deserves it tbh, so I'd allow if more mobs spawned because of me but I don't think it was the case.

 

Yeah I totally understand that. Im not trying to say he didn't deserve it or anything, I was just curious as to what his strategies were so when asking to see the run I ended up pointing out the spawnrate of mobs. Either way, congrats to @ScurgMcGurg and glad he got the sub 9 le reward :D

 

In the first room, It seems like more mobs spawn in the back side of the room, around where you placed your totem, so I got the first bucnch of Scrap, got it to the hopper, which probably didnt even save any time... Archer is by far the best to get up theat towers but after the conveior on the way to the next room mage is better. In the tower I use 1 escape spell to get to the first elevator, on the 2nd floor I use escape to get through the quickest way, like you did. On the 3rd floor i escap spell onto the elevator, and onto the area above to get over to the exit with another escape spell. In the final Room before the boss I kilked a few mobs for scrap before killing the mob to get the core and head up to the boss.

 

Off topic, but if you are bored one day and want to watch a seriously good TAS..

best tas i've ever seen, and i've seen a lot.
its a 100% tas, meaning he has to get every gem and every egg in every level.
the first level is pretty boring, but he does some insane stuff in most other levels.

no one is going to watch it but i just thought i'd put it out there

 

I get that the 64LE thing is probably no longer available, but nonetheless I wanted to prove that sub 8 was possible ;d
