or MTT for short. I wanna see what everyone's music taste is, and I kinda wanna listen to new music so please feel free to throw some songs my way.

Does videogame music count? I listen to almost everything except country and heavy metal (with also a soft spot for Coldplay), so I wouldn’t have much else that you probably haven’t heard before.

 

essentially anything except metal, hiphop, or dubstep.

 

of course VG music counts. I find myself listening to a ton of VG music, from smash bros brawl to smash ultimate, and pokemon.

Most stuff goes (as long as no lyrics, I have a deep-seated hatred for those terrible byproducts of the worst parts of human culture)
I really like music that is methaphorical or tells a story (for example, the ARK credits music is split into three parts: primitive, tek, and ARK eras. The music changes in accordance with the part, and in the game you advance like that, as well.)
Energetic, peaceful and jazz are other things I like in my music.
And quite a few video game OSTs make it into my favs, as well.

the difference comes on how do you apply it
if we talk about rock, i like to hear stuff that has actual melody in it like this remix of Septette for a Dead Princess
not a mess of batteries and electric guitars like metal songs sometimes are
if we talk about electronic music, i like stuff that has a good rythm/makes some epic shit like pretty much half DM Dokuro's channel
when it comes to stuff like orchestral, i want things that have some sort of build up or just plain hype like Melee's/Sm4sh/Ultimate's main themes

I also, for some reason, really like the soundfont Cave Story uses, probably because of how unique it is, as OrgMaker was also made by the same creator of Cave Story
Same goes for ZUNpets, this instrument is fucking marvelous and so is ZUN

I also dont usually like lyrics unless i cant understand them, probably has to do with my brain interpretating it as just another instrument instead of actual lyrics probs the reason I like quite a few vocaloid songs lul
The only style I don't really like is mostly latino-american songs
Let's be real, these guys do cool beats (I like despacito's spanish guitar unironically ok) and rythms, but the lyrics are usually some really bad trash, examples would be the trap genre in general there, everyone here where I live is obsessed with this Bad Bunny guy and I don't really like his songs, also reggaeton, this genre is pretty much "Pornhub: The Musical"

Oh also SiIvaGunner rips are also great sometimes no joke, King for a Day rips have been really good for now

So yeah I don't have an specific taste, I just like stuff from here and there
