Help With Cybel

Another thing occured where after Phase 04, Cybel split into 2 Cybel 05's. Anybody who's soloed form 5 knows that it's hard enough on it's own and that 2 is just fucking nonsense.

I'm going to use this to rant about Legendary Island and the state of the game in general. It's not that bosses are hard or anything, it's just that bullshit mechanics are prevalent. Legendary Island is the most prevalent example of this broken behavior. Cybel isn't hard per se, just that this bullshit strikes at fucking random, wasting your runs and time, is irritating....to say the least.

There are 2 types of bosses in Wynn.
1) The broken as fuck bosses that don't give you the item that is needed to progress.
2)They 1 hit KO you.
Both are applicable in Cybels case.

When I fight a boss in other games, case in point Devil May Cry 3/4 I feel that the bosses are actually bosses and when I lose, I'm ready to give the boss another go and feel "Wow, this boss is tough, but I'll beat it in a couple more tries"

In Cybel's case all I feel is "Fuck this shit, I'm out"

 

In my experience, the minions are only really, really annoying, but they aren't the most dangerous part of the fight as they can be taken care of very quickly. It may be worth switching to a higher damage build so they can be killed faster if your current build's damage is too low.

The builds I use on assassin tend to be very spammy with high int and mana regen so my rotations involve spamming the heck out of spin attack with some smoke bombs here and there. This keeps Cybel still, allowing me to keep doing damage. I only need to reposition when I get pulled by cores, pushed by Cybel, or when Cybel charges elsewhere. As I am mostly in the same spot for a while, it reduces the risk of stepping on plates or walking into cores.

You can't always ensure that the cores die in the middle, but that is fine as the boss itself can be moved with multihit, which is what I do to stay away from them.

In survival phases, I also use spin and multihit in addition to vanishing to the other side as those keep Cybel away for a good period of time.

 

I did find a solution to fight Cybel when it's feeling like fighting instead of FUCKING LODGING ITSELF IN THE WALL

 

Maybe instead of turning your own help thread into a rant/rage, go try some new stuff. @YYGAYMER 's build is great and all, but it's based off of Black with very little MR. And it seems like you're using some sort of earth dagger to fight Cybel, so you're not even getting the MS from black. You're at 6/4 MR with 70~ish Intel and have to micro-manage between your main weapon and Rewind (I'm assuming that's your water dagger in your hotbar). So, you're gonna have to play super patient and look for openings to get damage in while surviving.

The build is great in the sense that its super cheap and can solo LI, but it's nowhere near as powerful/easy to use as optimized mythic builds. Which means you actually have to play well with the build to solo, and so mistakes, like walking on plates and getting stuck in a corner and whatnot, are gonna screw you over. Maybe that's why the boss fight feels frustrating for you.

Hate me all you want, but after a few runs, LI lost it's fun for me, so I just got myself an Apoc and now I can just get tokens within ~25 mins whenever I want.

Since you're poor, the build you're using is a good option, but you might wanna focus on getting some emeralds and saving up for a more powerful, optimized build. @YYGAYMER is just insane and enjoys running LI with these types of builds, but I get the feeling you don't really enjoy this playstyle as much. So maybe focus on lootruns/trading for a bit and then get an easier build with more MR/intel. Being able to spell spam with excess MR gives you a lot more room for error. After all, your current build doesn't use LI items, and from what it seems, you're also nowhere near being able to assemble a build that does require LI items.

If you want to do LI for the challenge, then its just a matter of being patient with the fight, using your strat, not rushing it, and not making too many mistakes.

 

Selvut himself has claimed that Cybel is bullshit.Go ask him, and dude, I soloed Cybel 3 times technically but during the first time he glitched out of the arena, and during the 2nd time, he split into two at the 5th phase and then at the 3rd time he got lodged in the wall. THat's the screenie I posted. He's lodged in the wall. All of the times, I was doing great, but Cybel is such a fucking horseshit fight man


I do love the build, and I like that play style thanks for asking, just don't like that my perfect Solo was ruined by this.

Well, as I said, your build and the playstyle that comes with it doesn't leave a lot of room for error, so these small "bs mechanics" are gonna screw you over. I've never really had these problems with Apoc cause the build is really easy and forgiving, so these random mechanics don't really affect me.

Part of using these cheap builds is just being patient and dealing with these things, cause the price of using a cheap build is that it's just not as powerful.

You're really just turning your own help thread into a rant to rage about Cybel and that's not gonna help you whatsoever.

Now that I have calmed down enough to answer, let's just say this. By "Bs mechanics" I mean things that get fucked up that are OUT of your control. I got angry because I had to RESTART the fight, not that I lost. :P

Point 2 contradicts point 1 btw.

Yeah, these things are out of your control. Cybel getting stuck in the wall, 2 of them spawning, bad RNG on when Cybel decides to self-destruct. It happens to everybody,

Now, I've said this a lot of times, your build is very cheap and doesn't have as much survivability or intel/mana as other more powerful builds. What this means, is that there's less room for error, even if that "error" is out of your control. So, these random events are gonna happen and screw you over since your build can't handle it. You have to be patient and just either play super safe to lower the chances of this stuff happening (Cybel getting stuck) or accept that you are using a cheaper build that isn't easy to solo with and take the losses. So, if something goes wrong, just take the loss, accept it and do /class. You have to be patient with these types of builds.

RNG/random chance is frustrating, but that's what being patient is about: dealing with the RNG and trying again.

I feel like you're looking at your build the wrong way. It CAN solo LI, there's no doubt about that, but it's not guaranteed to solo LI.

To give you some comparisons, with my Apoc build, I've handled 2 Cybels in the arena (granted I popped a def pot after that happened), and I've also had times where I'm literally sitting in the arena with Cybel waiting for him to self-destruct. But because I'm using Apoc, which is an extremely powerful build with lots of survivability, there's a lot more room for error and so these things don't affect me as much to the point where it doesn't screw over my run.

If your goal is to grind LI tokens (which you said it isn't but it doesn't seem like it from the way you're raging about LI), you should just invest in a stronger build. I've mentioned this before, but you don't seem to need a ton of LI tokens right now, since your current build doesn't use one, and you aren't able to afford any other builds. Lootrunning and getting some LE might be worth the time for you.

If you're doing LI for the challenge, then you shouldn't really be complaining and ranting on your own thread, since the stuff you're complaining about is part of the challenge: being patient with a cheaper but weaker build.

 

You still don't get what I am trying to say. Stop with your Apoc shenanigans, I don't want to hear about that fucking thing any more. It's broken and it's always been broken. I chose this build because it offers sufficient challenge and isn't just a Press Left Click to win build aka Defense Apoc War Scream build, which sounds like the one you are using. Also it's not even that I'm pissed about this build or anything like that, was just angry and needed to let off some steam.
