Lifesteal Mechanic

Hi, it's me again, you know who I am.
Can someone explain to me how exactly does the lifesteal work?

 

Lifesteal has a chance of giving you health when you melee. If you continuously melee, it should trigger about once every 4 seconds.

The slower your attack speed the more likely you are to trigger the lifesteal

If you do the math your lifesteal (and mana steal as it works the same) should roughly proc like this:
super fast: 1 every 16 ish melees
very fast: 1 every 13 ish melees
fast: 1 every 10 ish melees
normal: 1 every 8 ish melees
slow: 1 every 5 ish melees
very slow: 1 every 3 ish melees
super slow: 1 every 2 ish melees
assuming you're doing it consecutively like Altakar said anyways

it can proc multiple times if you hit multiple mobs, too

 

That was the reason I asked, because it confused me the most
