Build Some Wynn-style-ish Terrain

for these two bits of terrain I wanted to go for the kind of ocean border terrain on the wynn coastline near fruma. for the second mountains think I made the arches too thin and thats one reason it looks weird. Anyways, and thoughts & appropriate criticisms are welcome

Hey this is pretty nice! I like what you did with the trees and little pockets in the terrain. I’d personally recommend finding pictures of some real mountains to help you get a little bit more of a realistic shape of a mountain and it’s scale along with adding blended fantasy aspects. Just work on making your mountain really look like it’s YOURS. When people look at your mountain, they don’t want to seem something that reminds them of wynncraft, they want something that pops and looks new and exciting to explore! Use all sorts of palletes and blend colors for really smooth transitions. Be confident with your creativity. Terrain can be one of the best expressions of yourself as a builder!

Yeah, most of my terrain is my own style/palettes but I wanted to try and branch out into this style to add to my knowledge and skill.

 

Dude definitely try some desert/arid terrain style. I’d love to see your take on that!

 

Yeah, been meaning to do that. Wanna get like a 8-9/10 on Wynn style then move to some other types of terrain. My structure skills lack a tad so I should definitely focus on that a bit but I've sold my soul to the terrain devil (as in my schedule revolves around packing over 3.5 hrs of terraining a day) so no turning back

It reminds me of the mountain terrain on the Llevigar side of the wall. Not too far off of the real thing to be quite honest. Can't lie, looks spot on.

 

I dont know why you would be trying to emulate wynncraft terrain... They are good in terms of restricting players and creating intresting gameplay and map restrictions but yet at the same time lack in detail and shape somewhat. I suggest if you want good terrain with limited resources, take a look at Gabersid's terraforming masterclass, He uses no fancy simplexes and/ or weird # masks. there is a link to his video HERE

Idk why but I like that cartoony, wynn terrain more than the one displayed in the tutorial

But I get what you mean though; there's a lot better terrain out there.

 

I offered and u said no but I might. also on that subject im thinking of making a terrier's bible with tips, tricks, underused commands and some techniques.

im emulating wynn terrain because I would like to get into the build team in the near future and I would like to show that I can terrain in the appropriate style. Since I can't predict the future and what style they would need builders to be proficient in, this is what I practiced. I didn't use a simplex or anything fancy, the terrain consists of just 4 blocks: stone, dirt, grass, and snow. I didn't use fancy blocks because the WCT doesn't use fancy terrain blocks, except for rare cases like deaths realm or RoL.
