A few days ago I made a shitpost in vip plaza about fixing the economy, and it made me think: could this actually mean something? After some research I found that increasing the price of high tier items like legendaries and mythics can help lower the huge inflation issue we have. I’ll try to keep it short.

When more supply is added to the economy, in the form of mythics or legendaries, demand goes down, and so does prices. Problem solved, right? Not really. Or at least it doesn’t seem that way. There are a few ways this will actually help. One is by all the emeralds going into IDing the item, and then reIDing it. Second, an economy where more trading is done helps grow it overall, which at the very least will slow the inflation. And third, the release of more items will diversify the build market even more, which will trigger more spending.

I am not a master of economics, but I hope that if this was implemented, it would at the very least help.

The prices of items will change rapidly due to build nerfs and major updates so it won't go up or down as you wish.
What I see now is mythics are monopolizing the trading market.
Unless you found a mythic or you won't be able to earn stable money for a functionable build.

And you want to make the price to go even higher? This will make the game unfriendly for newbies.

They can't just release items willy nilly it takes time to balance them out. They're obviously making more items but they can't just release like 20 every single day.
Idrk what you mean here as that is up to the player of whether or not to trade, you can't force them to spend their money or sell their items (for example me I very rarely buy anything and I only really sell powders)

I never said a new item has to be released every day. The current pace is fine.

Most of the wealth is held by people who trade

i don't think we should make mythics and legendary s drop more the thing is legendarys are very cheap and ez to buy so you won't get anny money from them so if its harder to get a legendry the prices wil go up so its ez to get money so people get more money overall if you just buff the drop raid of mythics people wil prob try to sell all mythics they got to save there money so yea i also think there is no good way to fix the economy also i whould not listen to me cuz i got some le and mytics so i don't really see the prob soz

There's the problem. With players getting more items, demand goes down. Which means less trading, making it harder for poor players to become rich through selling legendaries, because literally everyone will already have these legendaries. At this point inflation doesn't matter anymore, because the legendary market died. Which would mean the market would be based solely on mythics, which are still really rare. This would reduce the chance of every player that isn't extremely rich rn to be able to save up and buy a mythic eventually, and you really don't wanna do that.

thats like snaping your fingers with an infinity gauntlet and spiderman going poof (ded meme lol) except in this case, spiderman = wynn economy. as stag said, if demand goes down, so does trading for the rare items and trading in general.

Opposite of that. At some point, it'll be more profitable for players to just go and get their own legendaries than to trade for them.

If the drop rates for mythics are increased as well, then generally it's not that bad to purposely inflate the market. It'll kill trading, but since the amount of le gained from quests remains the same, it'll actually be easier for newer players to buy items that they'd like for their builds or just to have since the prices dropped. Its just that no one can really get rich anymore from trading (not like they could now) but if the prices are that low anyway, there's no point in being rich anyway.

Mythics will still be rare. They always will be, compared to other items. Unless you make it so every mob would drop a rare on average or something. But then, if that were true and everyone would have mythics, it would still kill the market. Nobody would buy stuff anymore because everyone already has what they want. You don’t want that, it’ll make everyone super strong and it’ll make a lot of players quit because being rich became useless.

People keep thinking that it has to be a drastic buff to drop rates. When I made the post, the most I had in mind was for mythics, it would go from 7/1000000 to no more than 9/1000000

I’m 99.99% sure he was joking.

Also, a server reset isn’t really optimal at this point, it would be a huge middle finger to people who spent a lot of time on this server, including level 1010s and people with a lot of mythics
