SPOILER Hidden Secret Tomb/seal In Canyon Of The Lost

Just a note, I first discovered this a couple of months ago (during D&D update) but didn't really have the motivation to create a long thread on it until now. That said, I can't say how long this has been in the game.

So there's a sealed tomb hidden under this wooden shack in the Canyon of the Lost.
Coords are 620 51 -4981


To get there, you start in the Thanos area and head towards the Bantisu Air Temple. Once you reach this sign, you turn left instead of right and keep going down the path.


The path should take you to the entrance of this cave. Do not go in the cave. Turn around and you should find a ramp/slope up to your right. Go up the slope.


That should take you to the entrance of this yellow cave. Do not go in the yellow cave, or across the wooden bridge. Instead, go through this narrow area and you will find the wooden shack. The cave with the tomb is hidden in it.




Inside the cave, your first see this area with 2 waterfalls...


If you keep going down, you find this dark area with wooden platforms that seem to be parkour, and this mysterious, dark, sealed door/entrance.



The signs next to the sealed entrance tell you to look up the water find the answer to open the seal. So, you go back to the waterfalls and go up the second one on the right.


Inside, you find a small hideout with various signs. The signs seem to be journal entries left by a scientist/explorer who opened the sealed tomb and found "IT", which appears to be something terrible, and so the person hid "IT" and left.



However, there's also this sign hidden in a corner away from the other ones. Saying "I must go back to the shard".


That's all I could find. There's nothing up the second waterfall in the cave.

I have no idea what this tomb could be, but I do have some thoughts on how to open the sealed door.

The signs reference shards of some sort, and it was left behind by a scientist. Now, this immediately makes me think about the 3 brothers from ??? quest and the scientists investigating the meteors. Since the shards could refer to meteor shards. How that relates to the tomb, I have no idea.

The signs also talked about how the original person used dynamite to open the door, maybe you have to bring a tnt/dynamite item to the door?

I also tried testing for hoppers in the area and didn't find any. That's not to say there are no hoppers tho, I could just be bad at finding stuff. Maybe other people can try. (or maybe the entire thing activates by just having a certain item in your inventory?)

So, I'm currently stuck on this, idk if anyone else has seen this before or knows how to open it (or what this entire thing even is). Any help/info is appreciated.

Ok, I went to the place. Nice find! Not sure what could trigger it though. Maybe we need to get some tnt items? Like from Lusuco. Or maybe the meteor near Llevigar, since it has ‘meteor shards’ in it

 

I've seen this secret posted so many times it's becoming like an old friend.

I believe there's a loot chest, T3 or T4, behind the door.
