Kaelari dwarven clan names typically consist of an adjective or noun attached to another noun. Some examples are Bouldertoe, Ironfist, Thundershield, and Silverfloor. You may notice that Kagalan doesn't fit this. This is because it isn't Anafenza's surname.

Originally, she was Anafenza (clan name undecided). I haven't decided on her original clan name, so for this example, pretend it's something that fits the names above. In Kaelari Dwarven, "kagalan" translates to "honorless outcast". When a dwarf is exiled from their clan, their original clan name is forsaken and replaced with Kagalan in a formal ceremony, removing all records of their original familial association from historical records.
