Huh, guess I’m stuck on the roof. How far am I from the ground?

 

The building is about 60 feet tall. Luckily, the other birds have left the roofs. The bird you are/were holding onto emits and oozes violet/crimson gas. It twitches and tiny sparks flow around it.

 

Huzzah.

“Ugh, wow. Let’s get inside before the helicopter comes again, huh?”

 

About how heavy is the bird?

Rikane (after landing): "Any of you know what to do with this... bird?"

 

“Leave it here. Preferably in the middle of the road.”

 

Before this happens, actually: you hear a loud, raspy voice behind you.
???: "I will decide that."

 

I'll keep my knife out and attempt to see the... speaker. Essentially stay on guard while doing so.
Rikane: "And who might you be to decide?"

 

You're instantly hit with fear deep inside you once you turn around.
It's a fairly tall and large being. They wear a large black cloak with a hood that reaches down to their shoe and their face is covered by a mask covered in bright lights that as of now displays an electronic eye with 5 stars around it. They wear jet-black clothing, and on top of that is heavy black bulletproof gear with a strange violet light tracing the edges of it. They wear heavy boots and combat gloves, and lots of bags and packs on their back and sides, which makes their figure even larger than it already is. They look very much prepared for a war, but are standing as if they have no intention in fighting.

To inspect further, perception check. It's dark.

The being sighs before saying:
???: "Please, make your way back down. You have no reason to know who I am."

 

I spend 5 of my heal die to heal myself for... 22 hp, healing myself back to full.

 

Pinky yells from behind a car:
"Pinky": "A-are they gone? Or better, dead?"

 

Perception check: 17+3=20
I guess what Rikane does next depends on what he sees.

 

"Probably."
I glance up towards the building that Rikane's on.
"Don't know what buddy-boy's still doin' up there. I could fly up, still."

 

The black cloak has the same 5 stars of the mask on the right arm and on the hood along the top. The bags are clearly military-grade, and durable with many, many pockets and compartments. The gear is obviously top-tier, nothing you've ever seen before. The person seems maybe too large to even be a regular person, so it's odd that they have clothes that fit (and even the cloak, which seems to fit them exactly). Barely visible, the person has a large firearm strapped to his back as well as a riot shield. Once again, this person displays authority, but not in such a menacing way as the golem that you just fought. Despite this, an irrational fear still flows in your veins.

Pinky gets up quickly and looks at the golem parts and the dead monster-bird, relieved.
"Pinky": "We should be safe soon. Take whatever you need from the things, quickly."

 

"Right."
I fly up to @Nikolai Mael (Rikane).
"Hey, we're going so-"
I cut myself off as I see the other person (at least, I think I see him. Right?).

 

You do, but only the first description I gave.

 

I've Devil's Sight, if that changes anything.
"Now who in the hell...?"

 

Then you see details, second description. Fear makes your stomach feel like you'll throw up, but they don't seem to actually be violent.

You can tell the person glances at you because the mask tilts, but they still stand casually on the roof, cloak flowing with strong wind.

 

"...I don't like your mask."
I say as I slowly drift over Rikane.

 

Rikane: "I assume from your choice of... headwear that you're affiliated with this... bird. While I don't particularly feel like fighting this instant, what would you do if I take this... bird. Better to understand my options before acting after all."

Rikane: "Huh, when did you get here? I'm just having a little... chat with... whoever this is about whether or not I take the... bird."
