Hits and the bird isn't really phased. It swoops down again, attempts to latch onto you with its claws, and inject you but fails before flying up.

I move and shoot at bird 1.

To hit: NAT 20
Damage: 5 + 4 + 2 = 11

 

The bird oozes more gas.

I move a bit then shoot (EB) the bird.
Attack roll 1: 12 + 10 = 22
Attack roll 2: 2 + 10 = miss

Damage: 9 + 5 = 14 force damage.

End turn.

I'm an idiot for mixing Rikane and Daniel up, you should have gone.

 

I'll take my move then, let's see how this goes.

I'll spend a ki point for Step of the Wind, then use my bonus action to dash.
I'll then run to the building, then run 65 ft. up the side of said building, after which I'll jump onto the bird(?) and grab hold of it before pulling out a knife and start stabbing.

Attack 1: 16 15+8=23
Damage: 3+4=7

Attack 2:1 17 6+8=14
Damage: 5+4=9

Total Damage: 16 slashing damage

 

The bird-thing is large and I assume Rikane is medium-sized, so you wouldn't fall. I think you'd just hold onto the bird.

 

Wait, does size matter when grapplingc? Also, I thought flying creatures fall if their speed is reduced to 0?

 

You can’t Grapple the creature if it’s size is two or more larger, but that doesn’t apply in this case.
And yes, they should fall unless they have a way to hover (but usually flight via wings doesn’t allow that).

Once you grab hold of the bird, your hand starts feeling extremely hot. It's burning. The bird flails around in the air.

My combat rounds are a bit boring for a few levels.

I overcharge as a bonus action, then fly over and fire force beams from my gauntlets at the straggling bird.

Attack 1: 14 + 9 = 23
Attack 2: 13 + 9 = 22

Damage 1: 6 + 5 = 11 force damage, plus 2 lightning damage, and it's pushed 10 feet away.
Damage 2: 5 + 5 = 10 force damage

Total: 21 force damage and 2 lightning damage, plus 10 feet of knockback directly away from me.

 

The monstrosity is shot towards the building and lands on roof, dead. Also, Rikane is flung with the bird, since he's hanging on.
