Trade Market Or Auction House?

Auction house

Pros:
-easier to find specific items rather than searching through 10 shops

-easier to put items in rather than getting the screenshot, screenshot folder, imgur link and bb code

-you wont have to constantly bump anything for your items to sell

-you wont have to go through the process of finding a time when both players can be online at the same time, which can sometimes take longer than it should

-there are many auction house plugins already made so the update wouldn't take too long

-its in game and easier to access to newer players who don't know the forums exist yet

-you can easily tell the average price for an item by looking through all of them rather than having to ask a price checker or go through many threads for the same items price

-You can buy lower level items. At the moment, the trade market mainly offers higher level items, just because it requires too much effort for being worth it if you earn just 2 eb.

-There will be much more people involved buying and selling items, far more players will get access to trading, instead of only a small active group in the forum. And therefore, prices will become much more stable, which makes negotiating basically unnecessary for most of the items.

Cons:
-you do not get to know/meet your customers (the players who are not in it for the hardcore cash and just do this for fun or something else I do not know about ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )

-some people may just complain it doesn't feel like wynncraft because there was just change in general rather than keeping everything the way it used to be

-you dont get to negotiate price rather than being able to (but I think the amount of choices would make up for this)

-Organization and listing of all current sellable items.

Trade market

Pros:
-you can meet your customers rather than never knowing them

-you can negotiate prices rather than having a specific item cost too much


Cons:
-you constantly have to bump your shop just to get views rather than letting your items sell themselves

-it can be very tedious trying to find a time where both players can be online to trade (in my case it can take days and sometimes the deal is called off because of the bad timing) rather than just clicking a button and the item is in your bank already

-the time it takes to make the shop (in my case it took about 2 to 3 hours straight of screenshot, screenshot folder, imgur link and bb code rather than clicking your item into the auction house and setting the price

-the time it takes for the customer or shop owner to respond to your post rather than just clicking a button and the item is in your bank already

-you dont have to go through an entire shop or multiple entire shops to find the item your looking for rather than just searching the item and getting results

Overall, an auction house would be something for everyone, not just for high level players making their endgame builds.
Also, what some people seem to overlook (at least from what I read in various discussions): It doesn't have to be one or another. Even with an auction house in the game, really expensive items, where it is worth negotiating or auctioning, can be sold through the forum. - Robbee

Wynn could definitely use an auction house. I’m surprised that they’ve made one. It can be so annoying to find what you’re looking for.

I don't want to download a bunch of junk, and with an auction house you wouldn't need those programs at all because you just put the item in and that's it

I said it before and I'll say it again: yes, I really think an auction house is a really important missing feature from Wynncraft. I can't see anything wrong with adding one, except maybe if you want to negociate prices. Most MMORPGs I played have an auction house, it's just a really good quality of life feature, even Dungeon Realms had a similar thing!
It could also work as a money sink where the player has to pay a fee to put his item on the market!

 

im not saying that having an auction house is bad or that its easier to make a forums shop than just use an auction house, but what i am saying is that your comparison is rather extreme and exaggerated since you used an inefficient method of making your shop
also, you really are saying

therefore we should have an auction house
if it were just a trivial matter then obviously there wouldnt be a need for the content team to go to the lengths to create an auction house

it already exists with the wynn expansion or whatever one is made by scythe but I guess if they want to make it from scratch then yea it would take a long time, i'll put that in
