8 Slashing and 9 force.

 

Impact Gauntlets are a separate weapon, which you need to make a separate attack roll for.

Also, they deal bludgeoning, not force damage.

I release a wave of magical light and heat from my gauntlet at the "bird" above me, casting Heat Metal on its scrap armor (assuming that's a valid target for the spell).

It take 11 fire damage, and, unless it is able to drop its armor (which shouldn't be possible), it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
