Poll, Mana Regen Or Mana Steal

just curious on this, the topic came up on discord about mana regen or mana steal
basically, would you rather have a moderate amount of mana regen or twice that in mana steal?

note: many factors were left open purposely, mostly so it could be based on how individuals make builds or what their playstyle is

It depends, as one of the poll options says. First of all, you haven’t told us how much mana exactly. If we had something like 12/4 mana regen vs 24/4 steal, I’d choose mana regen, but if it was something like 4/4 regen vs 8/4 steal, I’d choose steal.

There’s also other factors, such as which class, if it’s a spell, melee, or hybrid build, what attack speed our weapon is, and what element(s) the build is

 

this was left open for the entire reason of making this poll, which was to see how people viewed mana regen vs mana steal

 

if your melee damage is good or there are other incentives to use melee attacks then steal
if you dont have good melee dps or ls or shit like that then mr

 

mana steal never activates so mana regen

also regen since:
1. its not always easy to get close to bosses and archer melee is gei
2. if its not super slow you have to actually melee for the full 4ish seconds to get the steal
3. wuts rly the point of making hybrid builds if you can focus on either melee or spell and be better in each respective aspects

It depends; if there's a large group of enemies or you have enough luck and mana steal, it's more effective than mana regen, while mana regen is more predictable

yet the more brainless assassins still complain about mana regen inconsistencies when really its just a player skill issue that it doesnt proc, seeing when you're vanished, if your mana regen procs, it doesnt regen mana. people dunno to unvanish to let their mana regen so they call it inconsistent and gay gameplay and pretty much just hate assassin because they suck.

And once you get used to the rhythm of the mana regen, you get to the point where you can unvanish for like a second, have your mana regen proc, then revanish

If i have good melee damage or maybe super slow attack speed with a powder special that gets along with it well (chain lightning, quake, maybe even courage) then I'd definetly choose Mana steal
