SPOILER What I Think Happened To Wynn (corrupted Dungeons)

So before the big corruption:

All Dungeon bosses are defeated

The Player defeated the Corrupter of Worlds

Orphion and his Succoru parasite were either destroyed or the Player got it out of Orphion's system.

The Player has visited RtD and Dern.

The Eye is either banished to an unknown realm permanently or destroyed.

Bak'al is dead.

The Roots of Corruption is inactive. There is still clear Corruption there however Nether-like beasts do not dot the landscape.

With the Eye dead or banished, the Corrupter, Bak'al, and the Dungeon bosses dead, and Orphion destroyed or cured. Wynn has won the war after a violent 1000 years. War efforts cease and the world is at peace..... Or so they thought.

When the Big Corruption hits:


1030 AP


The Corrupter of Worlds comes back to life and leaves his cave in Troms.

Manages to travel to The Nether once more and spreads the Corruption at a violent level

Then:

1031 AP

Elkurn is the first to be Corrupted.

Garoth is corrupted and revived.

Detlas is corrupted and torn apart.

The Corrupter of Worlds ressurects Bak'al and he revives his army.

1032 AP

Nivla Forest is turned and destroyed.

Arkadicus is ressurected and rebuilds her Nest.

1035 AP:

After 2735 years of existence, Ragni finally falls to the Corruption. Wynn falters in strength.. It's residents either turn or escape to Fruma at the disposal of the Queen.

Witherhead is ressurected. Katoa Ranch is destroyed within minutes of her Ressurection.

1036 AP

Charon is ressurected. Graken is killed however manages to put himself together a few more times.

Nemract falls. It's residents all survive and escape to Selchar or the Mage Island.

1040 AP:

Almuj is destroyed and corrupted. The Mummy ressurects herself. Hashr ressurects himself (however doesn't care about the corruption's cause).

Rymek does not fall to the Corruption. The Darkness of Dern instead washes over it. Quietly and calmly turning it's residents into it's minions.

1060 AP:

Due to Theorick's freezing of Nesaak, the Corruption had the hardest time entering it's territory. However in this time, Theorick's ice is thawed and Nesaak turns...

Theorick ressurects. He is far more powerful than Bak'al.

Lusuco is destroyed.

1065 AP

The Corruption finally breaches the Jungle..

Troms is destroyed. The Iboju Village is destroyed however their inhabitants retreat further into the Dernel Jungle and reach the Stronghold that the Green Crystal was in. Dernel Jungle for some reason, cannot be affected.....

Slykaar is ressurected. He is not corrupt however, instead a beast of Darkness.

1080 AP:

The Corruption spreads over the Ocean. Mage Island is unaffected due to it's powerful magic defenses.

Selchar is destroyed. The inhabitants of Nemract are killed alongside them.

1090 AP:

Corkus is turned. It's inhabitants escape to Kandon-Beda with a 90% survival of the population. The Avos take it much worse, many died. However some were able to use their flight to escape to Gavel.

Redbeard is ressurected.

1100 AP:

Wynn, Corkus, and the Ocean have fully turned to the Corruption. The Eye has escaped his prison/ressurected himself and now inhabits Dern and Wynn.


The recruits and heroes from Fruma realize that they cannot save Wynn anymore. They escape to Gavel or Fruma. The Player spends his time in Aldorei or the Realm of Light to assist Light's cause..

Gavel is not affected by the Corruption. After Orphion was cured/destroyed the Realm of Light was able to vastly amp up the defenses on Gavel. The Decay is minor.

1101 AP:

The Player returns to Wynn to destroy the Dungeon bosses.



so yeah that's my version of how Wynn turned corrupt and how the corrupted dungeons came to be

but this theory was already thought before
the theory of this being the future wynn, proof of this being the corrupted underworld crypt and graken's letter
which says something as "We managed to kill him, but then somehow he revived and killed us before we could escape..."

 

either way this is how i thought of it..

same way Arkadicus says "This is a familiar face... hehe..
We haven't had a warm meal in years. You've come at the right time.. hehe...."

It's proof this actually happened. Sometime in the future Wynn ends up losing the war and turning corrupt.

All of the bosses remember you:

???: ... How foolish of you... to come back here... after what happened.

Corrupted Witherhead: You... You've come here before... You shouldn't be alive...

Corrupted Garoth: Did you not learn to not put your hand in a fire for the second time? Fool, prepare yourself for Gaia's most powerful force — fire!

Corrupted Charon: Do you really think I will fall for that one again? An army like yours is childsplay for me! However, how do you plan to defeat an army that is already dead?

Two questions

1) HOW and WHY does CoW come back to life

2) How does the player come back like 70 years later when the quest lines you mention are still goign on while the corrupted dungeons are being fought

 

OR it could just be a possible future in which the player doesn't defeat the "eye" or whatever the end game beast will turn out to be. just a thought .

im pretty sure that place can take you to the corrupted dungeons somehow, i just dont know how

I think Lusuco will be Dernic like Rymek. And I think Dern is not ally of Corruption because of competition in world domination. And Dern need to have more physical territories (Yea I think Dern is Realm) + "Road" to Gavel to destroy it. Btw I had a dream where Dern appeared behind Dark Forest.

In this version the quest lines are all done and the corruption doesn't start to turn everything over again for 30 years. The Forgery is there to show you the corrupted dungeons its essentially a game mechanic... in current lore it doesnt really exist that much.

The player stayed in Wynn until 1100 AP trying to defend it alongside the other recruits until they realized it was a lost cause.

the CoW was said to be defeated by ToL inhabitants each one.

In my version none could kill him, however they could best him...

The Player was capable of finally killing him, however it was not permanent....

The CoW was not killed when he turned corrupt, however when others die they turn corrupt.... as shown in the Poisoning the Pest thing.

So he had one more chance for the Corruption to revive him.

 

Where does Corrupted Santa fit in? If I remember, he fucks up Sechlar 30 years after Christmas Chaos.

 

How's this for a theory
The player character is Crono
1000 AP actually means 1000 AD (Guardia Years)
This happens in an alternate universe
The corruption is a slow force of Lavos instead of an immediate apocalyptic blast
The Eye is actually Lavos
The Forgery is the End of Time
Corrupted Wynn happens in 2400 AD
The Queen of Fruma actually knows what the Eye is and is harnessing its power
The Queen of Fruma is actually Queen Zeal

 

Less of s theory and more of a rewrite (you never said theory, but the title...)
