Re-identification

I just found an old thread where things seemed to work differently so i wanted to ask again:

what happens when you re-identify an item, does it just change stats?
does everything stay same?
or
does it even increase stats?

i'm not really sure because for legendarys for example it gets quite much to pay and i'm thinking if it is worth it

 

it rerolls stats; you have a chance to get better or worse IDs

 

It completely re-rolls all of the stats on the items. The chances of getting the stats remain the same, but are essentially reselected. The number at the bottom near the rarity tag signifies how many times an item has been rerolled.

When you reidentify an item, all of its stats are changed, they can increase or get worse.

If it doesn't change any stats, it's only good for spending emeralds for nothing.

 

that's why i wanted to know what it does before doing anything stupid :D

 

It’s more worth it for mythics, as they have wider price ranges than legendaries, so the stats on them really matter so you can get more emeralds for a mythic. But if you have a legend with trash IDs or a more valued legend like Aquarius, it could also be worth it.

 

any item can be exponentially more useful with better stats. rerolling is a complete gamble and only done if you aren't able to get another of the item, or are willing to spend exponentially increasing amounts of emeralds for a better roll on the item.
