SPOILER Storyline?

So I've kinda been going off and on with Wynncraft for a few years and all over time the whole storyline just seems like a blur with missing parts. Right now my highest class is a level 63 archer and I just finished with the Troms quest explaining some lost hero of Troms and Bob?

Would someone do me the favour and take the time to explain the story?

Who is Bob? Whats up with the provinces? Whats the story of the provinces and their people? Whats going on with Dern? What exactly is the corruption? Who are these other heroes? Whats even going on lol

If you could, a good solid and detailed summary would be awesome. I've playing Wynncraft for a long time, before gavel and everything so I'd love to know all the ins and outs.

Try not to spoil too much after level 60 because that is where I am now and I'd like to pick up the storyline from there :)

So you ask us to explain the story and then not to spoil anything after 60, even though a sizeable portion of the story so far is 60+. Also, if you really want to know the story I suggest either re-reading the quests on the wiki, or make a new class and do all the quests again.

 

Nevermind I'm just going to ask someone on the forums because people on the forums just keep getting worse about questions and things in general idk what happened to this place it used to be really accepting and it just feels hostile now.

Anyway besides that much of the story is found late game in quests, the story pre-60 is really not fleshed out at all, and the general wynn storyline is shit ingame


Plot tl;dr

Miners want to mine emeralds, they open nether portal.

The corrupted miners emerge with an army of corrupted monsters

They kill everything

Bob, a lone hero rises up from the sewers of Ragni, goes to train in all classes, and beats back the corruption.

Bob suddenly dissapears, with a "tomb" appearing.
It is unsure if he is dead, or what killed him.

I recommend discoveries, since they really tell a lot about the story in Wynncraft. The Libraries especially tells a lot about the world, however it is quite tedious to get into them.

Anywho, here's the best summary for the story that I can cook up. Not really in chronological order as I myself sometimes get mixed up with the story, and it is up until Level 60. Enjoy! :P

Spoiler: Storytime!

You (The Player) are a human soldier sent from Fruma, a province which, is quite different from Wynn, but happened to be in quite decent relations with Wynn at the current time period. You were tasked to help fight against the Corruption, but you don't remember anything about Fruma. Even so, you unlock very powerful magical powers (spells) as you journey along Wynn (presumably ties with Fruma?).

Spoiler: Fruma Spoiler Level 80

Fruma isn't really released yet, but it is assumed they have a large monarchy and everyone is ruled over by a "super magic queen".

Anyone who is sent outside the province loses their memory - Kind of like an amnesia spell of some sort, and as such Fruma remain a mystery for many.

Wynn, is a human province that has doomed itself by the corruption. Thousand Years before, Wynn was a flourishing province, until they continued to expand, and found the Nether Portal. Curious, the humans of Wynn went through the portals, and found mysterious Green Stones (Emeralds).

Greed overwhelms the miners, as they went deep into the portal searching for more. Little did they know that entering the portal would give rise to the corruption, the undead, and the monsters were awoken as they dug too deep (Which explains why most mobs in Wynn drops emeralds).

The miners became insane and was killed. Anyone who went through the portal becomes enraged, friends fighting among each other, even heroes such as Theorick who tried to stop it was corrupted themselves (Which he later froze all of Nesaak to restrain the corruption in him, as the cold could restrict the Corruption).

Anyways, the corruption spread widely, the first city to be hit hard was Nemract. Ancient Nemract was what left of them, and the Nemract Port we see today was a rebuilt version of it.

Bob, was a legendary hero who was one of Wynn's strongest warriors ever. If you have looked into the secret library in Ragni (a discovery), more of his story is told there. He has mastered the power of four main fighting arts, the way of an assassin, archer, mage and lastly warrior, from the masters, Chak, Mael, Ethe, Fier. (Note how there are items named after the masters, Chakram, Maelstorm, Etheral, and Fierte)

However, he seemingly has disappeared, in which in the Bob's Lost Soul Quest you looked for what remained of him - A tomb which suddenly appeared in Nesaak, no one knew who placed it there.

Spoiler: Bob's Spoiler (Level 74, or if you have unlocked Wynn Plains Master Discovery)

It seems, that Bob, aged 72, heard of a beast made purely of Corruption, prehaps even the leader of the Corruption force.

But prehaps it was his old age that made him lose the battle, he did not return.

He split his powers to his pet animals which accompanied him throughout his journey, Cluckles, Baab, and Mooington, and only the people who could find all three pieces of his power would become Bob's successor as the hero of Wynn.

Fast forward to when the Villagers arrived, only a decade from present day. They arrived on boat, and settled down in Maltic. They are of separate race than humans, and they come from the magical province of Gavel. At this point Wynn was on a losing battle with the corruption, but the Humans realized that the undead was not attacking Maltic at all.

They made good relations with the Villagers, and as such more and more Villagers came over to Wynn, as they sought to trade to earn Emeralds, which they were extremely greedy for. The Villagers who are much better equipped in Magical Prowess, thought the Humans about what they knew about magic, and for the first time it helped them fight back yet again.

Towns such as Detlas flourished with the Villager trade. Villagers became an integral part of Wynn, and for some reason, towns with many villagers seem to be avoided by the Corruption.

As things settled down, Gavel finally opened up their gates, and finally was humans able to visit Gavel for the first time.

Gavel was a magical province, but Villagers are not the only creatures in it. Some, more friendlier, others, more hostile.

Gavel was split by the distinct light and the dark. Why? A mysterious force, something similar to the Corruption, but not quite, "The Decay", engulfed basically half the province. Cities such as Llevigar flourishes, but towns such as Olux...

Rumors says that the Villager's Greed for emeralds are the ones to be blamed, but, until you visit the Light Realm itself (Level 70++), it is only speculation.

And..... there is Corkus. Corkus? What? No, it never existed. It's not even registered as a province! I only seen electromagic in a small scale, but a whole province powered by that is just insane. (Level 83)

 

they told you what you came for didnt they, and it might help if you post in the write section and use the right tabs and they gave you advice to read the wiki even though they didnt say "oh I see you are not familiar with the wynncraft story line, I suggest looking at the wynncraft wiki to find the story line" and if you expect everyone to be nice and say it in the way you want it said then thats unrealistic + bethjerry isnt quite right but its not like they were cussing you out for not knowing the storyline and being level 60

Was Wynncraft forums always like this? Or I was biased about the old times and sugarcoated it. A thread like this should instead encourage discussion. Stop discouraging actual discussion in the community.

 

Take everything I say lightly, I'm no lore enthusiast but I'll do my best.

Bob or rather Robert is one of the greatest warriors of Wynn. He wielded all 4 of the classes weapons and served in defeating Bak'al. His mother ,originally from Dern, died giving birth to him during a raid in Ragni in the Decrepit Sewers. It is theorized that she was reincarnated as the Witherhead.

Wynn is populated by humans who came from Fruma. These humans then encountered the villagers who came from Gavel.The villagers, naturally have a strong relationship towards emeralds TL;DR they're greedy af. The villagers then set up a colony called Maltic near the coast of Wynn. The humans, who were mining emeralds, accidentally opened up a nether portal releasing the corruption. Fruma and Gavel then severed ties with the outside world in fear of the corrupted war leaking into their province. Meanwhile Corkus, an island off the coast of Fruma, is founded by the people who fled from the province. As the war against the corruption fades, Gavel then opens its doors allowing for humans to wander around the province. A captain, who is accompanied by a warrior from Wynn, discovers Gateway island which lands them in a dark land which is believed to be known as Dern.

Dern is believed to be a province shrouded by darkness inhabited by Olm. Little is known about this province other than it shows some relationship towards the "Eye of Wynn", a god like entity which has powers to turn those who follow or encounter it, insane.

The corruption is somewhat of a plague. It can corrupt the minds of the living turning them from insane to sick to even monsters. The corruption can also reanimate the dead as well as posses inanimate objects. The epicentre of the corruption is the Roots of Corruption which holds the nether portal. Hordes upon hordes of monsters attack innocent civilians such as the many raids on Ragni. These hordes are lead by Bak'al who caused havoc to areas such as the Detlas suburbs. Bak'al was eventually defeated by Bob after a failed raid on Ragni.

Other than Bob there are a few more heros such as members of the Twain family such as Theorick Twain who fought during the beginning of the war against the corruption and tried to close the portal and the legendary Siegfried (the Bob of Gavel). Another hero, or rather a lost hero is Slykarr, a shaman or rather a dark magic wielder. As Slykaar was just becoming more popular among the civilians of Troms, Bob showed up and they eventually dropped Slykaar. Slykaar then practiced with his magic creating the slimes we now see in the jungle.

Some information in this might be wrong so I recommend you look at the discoveries and read the wiki for more detail.
