This Is Just A Game, My Opinion

This is my opinion, I've wanted to do this for some time but I feel like today was another day that I saw this around the community. Before starting I want to mention that this thread is not meant for someone in the community or it would have been a conversation, this is for every player to read, discuss and think.

My question is, did we forget that this is just a game? Always when there are any kinds of flamewars I tell this to people, but you are just taking this game in such a serious way! The actual purpose of the game is to have fun.

If there's not a really good mythic you call it TRASH but you still use it, if there was a complete mythic buff right now we would have to buff every mob too so players with mythics would also have fun playing Wynncraft, it's not about having a mythic and being a God, it's about having an achievement in the game making you able to grind at areas, such as Legendary Island and The Hive. The game has to be interesting and so it can stay interesting you need to have a challenge.

What is the fun about cheating? Being able to brag that you abused something and have 10 mythics now? I can assure you that everyone will forget about it and you will lose the rewarding feeling of finally finding a mythic. You will only see the empty and flat world that is not supposed to be seen on Wynncraft.

Guilds, what is going on? People aren't friends anymore because they have a different alliance, hating a guild because that guild has different strategies. Wars just got fixed and many war guilds aren't interested in warring anymore because of this HORRIBLE environment that you are creating. Only you can improve that, we can't say: Hey be friends with RandomPlayer10! Why can't people be friends even if their guilds aren't in the same alliance or don't have the same point of view of what a guild should have?

I know I am a mod and I'm supposed to help "fixing" those, but I can't do it without your help. You have to tell yourself or tell your friend, hey this is wrong! Don't do it! We are playing a game!
You will get a mythic and after that complain that the economy is broken.
Don't death threat people because of a game!
If you have an issue with a player, post a player report, message a mod.
Let's please think about those, this is a reflection thread on how WE can improve our Wynncraft Journey and the community as a whole.

Toxicity is a big problem and each one of us MUST do something about it, mods can't do it on their own. We are humans too.

Yea, a lot of guilds probably did..

 

achievements that are pure rng are not good achievements

 

What I wanted to explain with the word achievement was that getting a mythic is something that every player wants to get/"achieve" a mythic, not that it was actually an achievement.

Something I've always detested is when people who have no interest in playing the game decide to stay here and act like an asshole. Now, I'm perfectly fine with people who don't play the game, but hang around and just talk with various members. But what I don't like is when they start acting rude/condescending towards other people, talk shit about the game for no reason, and just display bad behavior in general. If someone hates the game (and sometimes the community) so much, why are they still here then? I hate it when people do this.
I like this community, but there are some sources of toxicity I really want to see taken care of.

I made those quotes up on my own but I made them to showcase the type of behavior I really want to see taken care of.

 

This, Pepo is very right about toxicity problem. You guys have been COMPLAINING about some of those mythic being shitty (and thinks that it should be deleted or buffed) It's just Item system. No matter, if items is too op to use and then I can see it being used in builds to cheese their way through Qira's Hive or HoA which can leads to being potential target for getting nerf in next item change. And as for Guilds, Sure, there are hatred from some guilds to other guilds or different alliances. but SINCE warring just recently got fixed, I feel like that some of those guilds are trying competitive to get on top 10, and then bragging about it to different guilds. My message to many g uilds that have hatred for other guilds: "Why can't we be friend for once all?" Warring is really fun for you guys who likes to war, not just competitive way. Can we just stop toxicity that were witnessed in some guilds? Sure, we can by be friendly to each other not just being bad to each other!

 

this is very true- the warring guilds have become so toxic towards one another. Whats worse is that some players are made to fear having friends in other guilds because the guilds in thier alliance may think it makes them "untrustworthy". This is a game people! lets all be friends!

 

For many people, this game is their real world.

The problem is not about stopping those who treat the game too seriously. It's about how to wake them up from this digital yet addicting dream.

 

Amen. Some people get way too worked up over something that is just a game. Granted, a game that many people have poured so much of their time into, but still a game nonetheless.

 

getting worked up over a game is supposed to happen. its a competition effect, every human feels it, it cant be supressed

I agree, but my point is not people getting competitive, challenging friends. It's about people losing friends and becoming toxic because of the competition, when that starts happening it isn't fun for many people in the community anymore.

 

Amen to that, I can feel that many friendships are being ripped at all due to some people becaming greed, and they need to realize that they are hurting their friends' feelings in process.

 

^ pretty much. Anyone would want to have an edge over everybody and reign supreme, despite the context. The fear of being left behind creates alliances, evil ingenuinty, and very dishonest actions. It is a defining trait of humanity: man lusts for power, and when there is something of extreme value that gives an advantage over anyone else in terms of influence and power, men would kill for it. That is why cooperation is a must if we want to ensure we progress forward in anything we do.

Man must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.
