Hit: S1 E1: Detlas Bin

Hey there! Today I've got a HOW I T WORKS thread to show you; it's time to fully explain how the bin in Detlas works! Some people seem to think that it just pours the items straight into lava, but what kind of bin would that be? Actually, Detlas has accepted the concept of ​

RECYCLING

I've prepared a full on explanation (with visual aids!) to show you exactly how the bin works.
Lets get started!

Here's a picture of the whole process, but now I'm going to take you through the path the item takes:

It might look confusing, but read on!

To start, the item first has to travel far enough away from the bank so there's space to work with it.

After extensive research, architects/engineers decided that a hopper was not suitable for the dropping of items (Due to their small surface area; have you ever wondered why you need a dropper?), so a cobblestone wall was adapted to act as a chute.

After falling through the chute, the item passes through the red line. This is actually a scanner, designed to record every item dropped into the bin. Thanks to Corkian technology, that data is stored in a underwater huge database somewhere around Volcanic Isles. Fancy circuitry allows the data of the scanned item to instantly be sent to that database! (Fancy that! Instant information transportation! However, this was actually implemented a long time after the bin first appeared, after Detlas established good political relationships with Corkus, which is why it's not compatible with the blue scanner)

So the item keeps falling - due to this weird thing called gravity: look it up - and passes through the blue scanner line. This scanner is for detecting what kind of item it is: EMERALD, ITEM or JUNK (To understand why it doesn't use the data from the red scanner see above). The purple bit underneath receives the data and pushes the item into the respective chute.

ITEMS

As well as wanting to save the environment, Detlas wants to make sure that thrown away items can help boost the local economy. Which is why all thrown away items either go the the weapon/armor merchants, or the item buyers. A simple hopper line takes them over to another complicated system, one which I won't cover now, but if you're interested in seeing how it works, vote in the poll!

EMERALDS

As mentioned before, Detlas wants to enrich the local economy. This can't be done without enriching the bank, which is why all thrown away emeralds are transported to the emerald vaults. Due to the richness of the bank, a teleporter is used instead of a hopper line. (Nothing really happens in emerald storage, which is why there isn't an option to see how it works in the poll)

JUNK (And all other items)

All other items go into the "Junk" chute, away to be sorted/destroyed. (Yes, even Horses, but there are SAFETY MEASURES in place to stop our travelling companions getting incinerated!) This is a very interesting sorting process, and I would be delighted to explain how it works. Vote in the poll above if you want to see how it works

Actually, Upton detection of a multitude of items, the red scanner throws out a huge lag spike, lowering server memory needed for players, allowing to to sort through quicker. So yes
