Boating?

Is there a way to travel somewhere like an island (say, the Bear Zoo) without swimming?

 

There's a boat at nemract/most islands/gavel called the seaskipper which will take you to places in the ocean if you buy boat passes from the nearby shop, there is no pass for the bear zoo tho

 

When you say swimming, do you mean actual swimming or using a boat?
Cause you can buy a boat from certain type of merchants.
Also, there are seaskippers, which will transport you to a particular location.

 

You can use your mobility spell to travel, in your case, escape spell is pretty good for traveling in the ocean

Seaskipper is best for sea travel unless you're going to corkus (In that case, your best bet is the Wavebreaker)
Some places can only be reached by boats (Which I wouldn't use post 1.9) and mobility spells
Bear Zoo has no seaskipper though :(
