Just up for a lil chat

has anyone heard of science olympiad and/or is in it?

 

Yeah, I've heard of it, and it was offered at the school that I go to. MathCounts is better for me because it feels so satisfying to manipulate numbers how you want it.

 

I joined it for one day... literally... then I quit

 

I'm in it I think, my teacher signed us up without asking.

What is science olympiads feels familiar, but i dont get it.

 

It’s just a science-based tournament were your school team is split up into smaller teams and groups according to specific events like materials science, programming, or forensics. Then people either take a test or build something based on the event, and whoever has the highest scores wins.

I’m not in Science Olympiad, but my younger sister first joined this year, and half of my friends are in it because most of my friends are nerds :(

I’m guessing you brought this up today because they are at Regionals?

 

I'm pretty sure I just have to make a test on my own.

 

That’s just what I got from my friends. Idk how it fully works.

Ice Bear is in the Chemistry Olympiad does that count?

Ice Bear says according to a teacher it is a contest where they make you take a test and if you beat the others at that test you take another test, and if you beat others in that test you take another test and etc.

 

you also build stuff.

 

Ice Bear says for the chemistry Olympiad you don't build stuff but you do do a few labs.
