SPOILER New Fate Of The Fallen Dialogue

I haven't done the rest of the quest yet, but I was doing fate of the fallen on my warrior and I noticed Theorick's new dialogue.

What do you guys think about the new dialogue?
I personally like it. It makes Theorick look like the cold, bitter anti-hero he really is, instead of the typical friendly hero that's nice to everyone.

I believe it was changed due to inconsistencies between Theorick's lore and his character before and after DnD.

I think this a go in the wrong direction. As of now Theoric sounds like an anti-hero, an edgy shadow the hedgehog anti hero; or silver the hedgehog, whichever you like.
And it's not just that he's now anti hero, he's attitude just doesn't belong with a person he's supposed to be. Theoric is more of a hero with a tragic end, he's supposted to be this great guy who saved people from corruption, but had to run away in fear of destroying what he sought to protect. In this he seems like he wouldn't give two shits if somebody who he was trying to save died. I'm phrasing it this way intentionally becouse with this dialouge he seems like a hired mercenary, he'll save people if his employer tells him to, but will think up excuse if somebody died along the way, and I don't think Theoric is that kind of character.
What I think he should be written as a character who lost any hope in fighting this war. He tried saving this land along with eveyone in it, but after many deaths and corruption still spreading he just can't find any will within himself to do anything other then just stand there watching it all colapase. As previously stated by the OP, Theoric seems cold, but he seems cold in the wrong way rihgt now.
But I hear you asking, "If he's so uncaring about the war so much why won't he just leave the people to die?" Becouse for his charcter to work he should still deep inside have hope for saving the Wynn and it's people.
On the outside Theoric should sound like cold uncaring "hero" he's being made out to be by every one around him, but as you listen to more what he says through out the quest you find out that he actually cares about saving everyone. That's why I belive that Theoric's motivation of going to the portal should be about him being done with saving people lives and wanting to take drastic measures to stop this never ending war. I think Theoric should want to go to the portal becouse of two things:

1. Becouse he's so done with helping people, who even with the help of his magic, still end up dying.
2. Becouse deep down inside he actually wants to keep helping these people, the thing is all the mothods he used just aren't working.

This is why I think the Theoric's dialogue should be changed from bad attitude anti hero, to a hero who lost all hope and is giving it all to the last chance for saving the province he belives there is.

 

in the quest, the dialogue went REALLY fast, making it hard to read. plus the huge paragraphs i had to read

I see where you are coming at, but in my opinion I like this better because it makes him actually stand out. Bob is just a generic good-doer, and before, the only difference between him and Theorick is that Theorick failed. I think his dialogue still conveys that he’s lost hope, and he still sacrifices himself in the end, so he really does care about the people around him. Maybe it was too over exaggerated, but then again we only have a few lines of dialogue and 1 quest to fully develop him.

 

These are only showing his initial dialogues rather than everything that comes past it, like around the portal and when he becomes corrupted. The idea is that he's very quick to annoy due to others' stupidity and isn't afraid to call them out on it. It's intentionally a much harsher personality, because before he was a generic joe with really nothing notable about him, which even with the change in story clashed. If you check the portal dialogues and his sayings when he's freezing Nesaak, you'll see that he does very much care about what happens. He's just very, very frustrated about everything.

I do agree that they should have made him less of a jerk and more like an apathetic person that doesn't care about anything(other than saving the province) but I like this theorick more than the friendly theorick. The biggest problem with Fate of the Fallen before was that the new Theorick was contradictory compared to what we could piece together from the old lore.(from the old lore, we could tell that he wasn't the best person, and he didn't really like mael because mael was different from the other Twain brothers)

Also, I have done the rest of the quest last night, and his dialogue WAS changed at the end, when he freezes Nesaak. I didn't bother taking more screenshots though, so I'm going to leave that for you to read on your own.

 

Seems like you were so busy making new Theorick dialogue that you must've had a brainfart on Rickeo's Flame. In the new dialogue, Theorick doesn't make any mention of it. You're pretty much given it out of the blue, with Telvu asking if the Temple of Time gave it to you. It's pretty confusing.

 

Actually I think the new dialogue sort of gives an explanation on it, if I'm correct.

So, I read the new dialouge (as hard as it was, becouse I had trouble reading it some parts of it just made no sense, but maybe I just don't understand it.) and Theoric still sounds like an edgelord. A caring edgelord, but an edgelord none the less.

From what I understood Theoric basically regards everyone as idiots, yet he cares about saving them. This is why I brought shadow the hedgehog, besdies being an icon of an edgy anti hero, he does for some reason help other people despite being a sonic universe version of Sephiroth.
You point out that he's angry about everyone around him being stupid, but why write everyone as an idiot? I really don't see why everyone else besides main characters should be written as borderline retarded. Theoric right now is written as a guy who regards everyone else as an idiot not being able to take care for themselves, yet he still choses to save them, I'll admit that he does seem to really care in later dialogue, however when we talk listen to him in nessak he sounds like a completely diferent guy. He says they all deserve life but when he interacts with them he trets the prople like trash.
You say it's better for him to be an edge character then an ordinary joe becouse it makes him stand out. I could come to a fancy ball completely naked, would that make me stand out? Sure! Would that make me look good? Not really. I'd say that making a character a dick just to be diferent from others is a poor writing practice. If you want to make a character unique then make him actually unique. I know it's hard becouse every type of character had already been explored hundersts of times, but from what I'm seeing from the recent updates Wynncraft is trying to get more serious story, annd I just don't think making a character edge just to stand out from all other bland characters is going in the right direction.
