    The ascii used to use that letter as an alternative invisible character to space, that's around one third of normal space's length. With the latest update, scroll format & some other stuff including this letter was remade, which is why they look like that. Do you have an outdated version of the pack? Have you disabled custom fonts? Which version of MC are you playing in?
