I love this server and would like to donate but... the lag is just unreal. Is it ever playable?

I understand the difference between client, server, network lag, this is server-side.

    It is definitely playable^^

As far as I know, and people have told me that server-side lag has almost always been a thing.
Either way lag or not, if you want to support the server then do that. If you want more worth for your money I'd suggest VIP+ instead, Hero is just there if you want to support even further.

If you are lagging constantly no matter the time of day then it's likely to do with your internet or your physical location rather than the servers. For the record, the servers are located near the northeastern US - the further you are from that, the worse it will be.

By the literal definition, yes, it is playable. I do not consider 10-second lag spikes every couple minutes playable.

I'm located in northern Indiana. 25 ping to NYNY with 115 down/20 up, wired connection. I would hope that is not the issue. This has been my experience no matter my location or machine:
    - Monsters moving so erratically (due to handshake re-positioning) that I'm nearly unable to hit them with single arrows
    - The entire server, chat, mobs, loot, noteblocks, everything grinding to a halt for ~10 seconds every few minutes.
-- When this happens I can still do things, my client is not frozen, my actions are just not represented on the server.
    - Spell combos either not happening, or firing off much later than the last keypress.
-- When they don't fire at all, those keys are not turned into actions - zero arrows, individual or spell
    - Many world interactive objects taking multiple seconds to react to player interaction
-- Hitting a monster, opening a chest, talking to an NPC

The list goes on and on. I see many posts about it, many users are or have experienced the exact same things as I am. Some days it works pretty okay, and it just feels like a laggy video game, but most days it's unplayable in my book. I just want to know if a "good day" for Wynncraft is a lag-free experience. I expect the answer is no, based on these forums.

    Thanks for your time!

I played last night and actually had a very lag-free experience. I think I've just been getting on at poor times over the last few days. Thanks everyone!
