Let me start this thread off with an explanation about what these are. Loot exclusive items are items that can only be found in tier 3 or 4 chests. Usually, these are limited to accessories or special cases such as mythic armour.

That being said, there's been quite a lot of items implemented that are loot exclusive only. I'd just like to know your guys' thoughts about these types of items.

They're cool, but maybe in future you could maybe make grinding exlusive items a thing, giving more encouragement to grind, since loot chests are seen as the only way to get items in the endgame

I find grinding more appealing than loot running. I understand the idea of loot chest and mob specific items. I think they should both be added, so as not to favor 1 over the other, as loot chests are currently. Also powders are way less common from mobs than chests. Overall I think the pool of items should be distributed more evenly between the two forms of farming.

T1 and T2 chests can drop loot exclusives. It's specifically accessories that are unique to T3 and T4 loot chests.

y should accessories be put in a higher tier chest? there are 9 pieces of gear to every build and yet 4/9ths of the build has to be obtained from a loot chest 3 or 4? Are daggers and bows worth less than necklaces and rings? Balance?

Expanding off of what @NicBOMB said, I never understood why tier 3 and 4 chests, the rarest chests, are the only source that can drop accessories, which give the weakest bonuses. I think they should be able to drop from tier 1 and 2 chests as well.

As for the other loot exclusives, I'm fine with them, but I think there should be mob drop exclusives as well to encourage grinding.

The whole reason why accessories are exclusive to Tier III and Tier IV is to reward people for exploring and finding those chests. While they don’t have more total bonuses than all of your gear and weapon, they aren’t supposed to. They are meant to complement your gear, not replace it.

And there are mob drop exclusive gear; set armor and weapons.

exactly. I like that some items are loot exclusives. There should be incentives to partake in all of the game's activities, like loot running, but only loot running (EDIT: and dungeons and boss altars) have exclusives, and mob farming V loot chest farming is completely unbalanced. Powders barely drop from mobs, completely the opposite of loot chests <---(I edited that cause I made an error). I have only ever gotten 2 accessories from mobs, and everything a mob grinding player can get and more is available to loot chest runners. Just because I don't loot run I had to buy my "Stellar" necklace. Now I don't think that is wrong, but mob farmers don't have that same attraction. There is no reason to solely mob farm over loot running.
Yea cause I'm gonna use the snow set and snail set the whole game now aren't I. Again, no incentive to mob grind. Yea it is cool to go exploring the same exact path through rodoroc, ahmsord, or corkus 20 times a week amirite? Loot chest running involves getting to know a defined path to all the chests possible. Not very explorative.

but they don't reward you for "exploring", they reward you for running through one area looting the exact same chests over and over again. thats just grinding but instead of attacking youre running.

The whole essence of exploration is to explore places that people have never gone to b4. For new players that never been to these places before, this is an excellent incentive for them to explore them. I don’t think it’s a fair criticism to call loot running repetitive when the alternative is killing mobs repeatedly. And yes, most people don’t use set items but that’s because they are spread thin across the level range and are gimmicky.
    ________________________________
For the first time you find them they do. That’s the whole point. Ok, so what’s your point? For some lootchests you have to dodge mobs or even parkour. Sure youre right clicking, but that’s not too far off from left and right clicking three times to one shot a horde of monsters all the time.

I agree with your first statement, trying to find loot chests does bring in new player. The thing is, we are talking about loot exclusives. The fact is, people are loot running to get these items, not exploring new areas. Therefore your argument falls flat. Everyone knows that loot running is far greater than ever thanks to loot bonus being fixed and more items than ever before being found only from loot chests. Who wants to get some gimmicky snail set when they could get a 17% spell or melee damage necklace. Balance? I just don't see it. And powders are a problem too. Everyone knows getting T6 powders is insane without loot running. It just doesn't work. I spent 4 days collecting all the powders I could including 1-2 tier powders whenever they dropped, but still only got 2 TV and 1 TIV powder. I put on a loot set and opened a loot TIV chest; got 3 TV powders (rodoroc lava lake chest). #balancedamirite

I like that accessories are meant to reward one for exploring, but do you honestly expect a newbie's priority to be exploring? Because I don't. Most newbies would focus themself on leveling up, whether that be by dungeon grinding, mob grinding, or doing quests. This isn't a problem with the endgame accessories, because most endgame players know a decent lootrun.

I know that I said that it would be fine for accessories to appear in tier 1 and 2 chests, and here's why: If accessories can appear in all chests, then they can be still be unique from weapons and armor, and still be not too hard to find.

No, a newbie's focus would be on getting better gear, which comes from loot chests, which leads to exploring for loot chests. Once they find a loot run tutorial online the whole exploration piece is defeated. That is the problem, not the focus part.

Perhaps then they wanted to balance it out by having only mob grinding give xp. Perhaps then mob grinding is meant to give xp alongside dungeons, while chests are meant only for looting.

But we already know that Loot Bonus effects mobs differently than chests, so why would they go through the trouble of making 2 different mechanics for the same stat based on source of loot if not to loot grind mobs AND chests, not just one or the other.
