Flight In Distress Key Selection Bug

I'm currently trying to finish the Flight in Distress quest, but while trying to get the key to open the Pirate Queen's door the selection menu doesn't change the key shape. Is this a common issue, and is there any way to fix this?

 

Me and my friends did have some problems with this, changing server fixed the issue for us, have you tried this?

 

Yes, I've tried every server that's available, and I've seen no better results. The odd thing is I can still press the confirm button that will give me a key. Do I have to have gone through the entire quest beforehand? (I died at the tnt explosion and used the checkpoint system to get back to this point)
